Do i need to do the entire mages guild questline to get Thrassian Stranglers?

Not necessarily, you need the levels to advance in the quest. I think she is just saying that she was able to progress through the quests quickly and without interruption because she already read all the books.
Yep, exactly what I meant. I didn't have to wait to start/finish the quests, and I didn't have to do the dailies - except for writs, I really don't like dailies.

So you have a problem with cheese? Uncle Sheo is my favourite Elder Scrolls char, and I have many thousands of hours in all the games except Oblivion and the first two. I will probably join a guild, because its called The Shivering Cheese guild.

✭✭✭✭✭I have never had any use for him. He's not amusing, he's not even amusingly crazy. The only DLC for the single player games I've never played is SI - in fact I never bought it (though it did come in the GOTY edition I had to buy when I scratched up the original disk).
Each to her own. There are numerous NPCs in all the games I don't care much for - and having played them all beginning with Arena at release, I'm fine with not liking/caring about some of them. But Sheo is the only one I really have no use for.1 -
grkkll✭✭✭✭Had to do both mage and psijic skill lines to get elements but didn't take that long. Biggest problem I have is with the fishing in Arteum and Stros. 4 hours and nothing, using hisimeer as well. Is this bugged I wonder?0
