Its time to say... NERF CRAFTING DAILY WRITS

No, thank you! There are plenty of other ways that make almost the same, the same, or more amounts of gold.

Edit: You also seem to forget, you need resources to do the daily writs. Which you either have to buy, or spend time farming for. And with high craftskill writs, this is even longer with how many materials those require.

I didn't expect the topic to get many posts so quickly. Also, I did not expect that people do not see the difference between free gold and gold from sales. And honestly, I'm too lazy to explain the difference. I will just say that while inflation is expanding in the game, your gold depreciates every day.

Free gold? From the writs? How do you come to the conclusion it costs nothing?

We levelled our alts and crafts so why should we crafters not be able to benefit from our daily writs?
It's brain numbing work and time consuming to login and out for each character...it takes patience and dicipline but above all...time.

It's gold we like to spend on the golden or luxury vendors or guild stores so a lot of it does go back into the economy 😊😆

Those writs are the livelihood of those, who don't want to join a guild by whatever reasons - so no, it has to stay like it is. And doing those writs every day, lets new players increase their skills in a natural way, they do not have to grind these crafting levels, but do them on a daily basis - just a bit here and there and have some money for other stuff. Especially new players have a problem to gain money without those writs - so it has to stay as it is - I would even be for raising the reward for the lower tiers of these writs.

Gold from sales comes from players who got the gold "for free" as you call it. But even that (gold for free) is not true and very misleading imho. You still need to spend time (arguably most precious resource) to get it. It is not like you can AFK & get gold for that. Also, there is always some kind of investment (example: you need to have crafting mats to do crafting dailies). In case of daily quests - you can only do them once per day, per character so there is a "daily" limit. In case of sales (either selling something you farmed or scalped) - there is no such a limit.

As for the inflation, I think it simply goes to show how hugely players can differ in terms of "how rich" they are. Because, as long as there is someone willing to casually pay 100K gold for overland weapon, that weapon (no matter how good or bad) will keep inflating. The price will go up or stay the same instead of going down, to something reasonable.

Yes, it's worth our valuable irl time. Most crafters pay the sub for eso plus for the huge crafting bag so we are also supporting the game.

That's 4.6k gold per day from 1 character and 50k per day if you have 9 characters. This is completely unfounded money. Players just make money out of thin air. As a result, we accelerate inflation, which will soon be out of reach. Just remove the gold from the awards. Players are already getting gold materials that they could sell.

Play the game a bit more and stop trolling. Seems you got too much time on your hand.

you put materials and time in... you get gold.

you do a quest, you put time in... you get gold.

I fail to see the difference between any other quest in the game... except that writs take even MORE than a quest.

As far as gold material drops are concerned, they are pretty random - I have 16 characters on EU and I'm not going to craft on all of them every day - I do 4 of them in average, otherwise I wouldn't have the time to actually play the game. Sometimes I get nothing of value at all within those 16 characters, but I can be lucky like last week, where I got 3 dreugh wax and a bunch of rosin - but then again the average gain from those gold materials is not high, quite often I get nothing of value at all.

You all alredy have profit from mats from these dailys, OP is right with to much gold being added into game with these dailys with so many players and their character

wanna gold? just sell these mats

or ok...maybe lets put these nerf threads....I will suggest instead additional gold sink...idk what but it is clear this game need new gold sink, You can give ide what to add if you dont want to have taken away gold from these writs

how about additional tax for selling items to vendor like it is in many games at all? and ofc raised tax by selling items form guild stores so we wont have so much more and more gold and nowhere to dissapear from game on scale how it is appearing in game via just daily writs

So....you don't want to allow people to make gold from writs....and you also want to raise the taxes for selling, as a gold sink, without the additional taxes going to your guild....because? You don't do writs and don't want to see others profit from them? You don't belong to a trading guild and don't sell items, so you want others to suffer?

Hint here; if we "profit" from mats from writs, its because someone else wants them enough to buy them. Since you can farm your own stuff, maybe they're doing writs too? Not to mention people have the gold to buy what they want because they do writs, and farm mats. Why do you want to impose a penalty because people are playing the game? Are you that envious of people who work for their gold?

If they nerf the gold reward from Daily writs they should do the same with all Daily quests. That said if you did get your way and they nerfed the gold reward, prepare for a bumping up of prices for items on guild stores as players try to make up for their lost profit, I have seen it before in SWTOR they raised the credit sink tax on their global auction house most sellers adjusted their prices to compensate for the lost profits.

Its not free gold it takes considerable gold and time investment to get to the point where you have a large number of characters with all 7 crafts maxed out and fully leveled to get that max gold quest reward value on each character.

yes it is free gold because your cost of dailys are always refunded in just mats rewards and additional profit if you will get additional rewards as gold mats, writs

This statement right here proves you don't know how writs work at maximum level. There is a net LOSS of materials at maximum level. You use about 40 mats and get back 15 (with a chance at a survey INSTEAD, but not enough to make up that huge difference), you use up style stones (which cost 15g each at a vendor), of which 1 is replaced (might get 1 back if you deconstruct the intricate gear).

Maximum Level Writs USE UP MATERIALS and convert them to gold and other rewards.

I only ask that people are actually informed when they are trying to make sweeping changes to the game... because if they're not, it shows they're trying to change a system they don't even engage in or understand.

The OP has just forgotten how life is for a new player - otherwise he wouldn't suggest this - this is an argument from ignorance basically. Or he played differently as a newbie, grinding his way up never having experienced how it is for a normal player, who just goes with the flow and really needs this money from writs to stay in game.

Additional gold sink? Sure...a barbershop, mount cosmetics for the standard mount, an additional riding skill point for extra gold 1x/day and take it out of the crown shop where it is massively overpriced.

Keep gold rewards for writs just as they are.

My most vital argument to this is - if it wouldn't be there, a lot would give up on this game pretty quickly - especially if they are new players - the will be out of money quickly with no way to play the game, if they don't want to join a trading guild, which they might not be able to afford without those writs - removing these rewards would seriously hurt this game.

so this isn't going to happen - ZOS will never allow the game to suffer from such changes.

if I would have to do that on 16 characters every day, it would be 30-45 minutes alone spend on loading screens. Actually the loading screen time is what keeps me from doing it on more than 4 characters per day. I want to play a bit as well, not just wait on loading screens and crafting.

Oh absolutely. I do 6 a day on console, so no add ons and it takes me around 25 minutes a day.

Maybe I'm just needing more caffeine, but I just don't see what loading screens has to do with the subject overall? The OP just wants gold completely gutted from the reward pool for writs with seemingly zero sense to their argument and a fairly obvious lack of understanding how the system works when it comes to the rewards you get and the offset cost.

Perhaps they are personally offended by loading screens. They want to do writs on multiple characters but the loading screen time makes them hate it so much they don't. So to remove that temptation, they want to nerf the writs?

    Oh boy...

They must do nothing but run around to every guild trader, buying every gold mat, every time one is listed. Probably takes about 2 hours to get to all the stalls, then they have to repeat it to keep the dozens (if not hundreds) of players who list gold mats in a guild per day from posting them in the interim. Then, do they coordinate with another group of hundreds or thousands of players about the cost of said gold materials?

Strange, I've never gotten an invite... and I have thousands of those mats myself, and have sold tens of thousands of them... all from doing writs.

While crafting dailies are a good way to receive a steady supply of gold tempers, this got to be one of the more ridiculous suggestiona I've seen. It's a good source of income for players who can't sell much in guild traders or have access to a large ingame network to do motif farming, selling carry runs etc....

It's also one of those activities in game that are rewarding in the long run if you invest much time and resources into it. It's kinda slow at the start with your first crafter but then it's a snowball effect, which is kinda nice. So leave it as it is I say :)

Well, I see very few people here really understand the essence of the problem. I will try to explain.
We have crafting daily tasks, for the completion of which we get 4.6k gold. For a day, having completed on all characters, we can earn 41k gold. Plus we get maps and gold materials. 41k gold per day seems insignificant, but in 10 days it is 410k, in a month more than a million. Now let's see what we have the bonus gold for. Yes, we are wasting time. But honestly, it could be taken into account if we were spending it in the game for something useful. If we were farming resources, items, motifs, something that we could later exchange for gold from other players through trade. Well, or at least the game would simply encourage our activity, like completing a hard mod trial.
Yes, we bring gold materials from these daily into the game, but these materials already have a price at auction.
Waste of resources ... Doubtful. It is highly doubtful. I do not remember the last time I ran around the location and would farm resources, because the resources that are dropped from maps and from boxes cover 90% of the costs. 10% I just buy from the guild trader. So, crafting daily can be done completely autonomously, without farming resources.
As a result, it turns out that a significant part of the gold in the game, the players simply generate from the void.
If you think that the high price of a crown for 700g or for a 130k chrome plate is the result of the increased appetite of traders, then you are being bullied. In fact, these are reasonable prices, simply because the players have accumulated too much, they do not need gold.
I don't mean to say that craft daily is entirely to blame for rising inflation. Or that inflation will ruin this game. Gold has never really mattered in this game. But still, I just wanted to draw a little attention to this. Since I think that soon craft daily can really be a serious and big economic abuse, the game is getting more and more players and this way of making money is becoming more and more popular. Thanks.
Also, I myself have 9 characters with all professions. I spend 15-20 minutes a day on craft daily. I already have 110 million gold.
