Maintenance for the week of July 27:
• [COMPLETE] NA megaservers for maintenance – July 27, 6:00AM EDT (10:00 UTC) - 11:00AM EDT (15:00 UTC)
• [COMPLETE] EU megaservers for maintenance – July 27, 10:00 UTC (6:00AM EDT) - 15:00 UTC (11:00AM EDT)

Can we please get rid of the god awful proc sets already?

I just can't stand it anymore... I'm sick of losing fights to players who have no right to be where they are. I am sick of losing to players who only know how to press a single button, have no idea how to properly set up a burst or even defend themselves, all because of stacking proc set dots with their group.

I'm tired of feeling like I've wasted hours of my life trying to "enjoy" this game, when all the game really does to me is create anger issues and utter dissatisfaction (regardless of realizing I can't do anything about the state of the game).

What in the holy heavens needs to happen before you, Zenimax, see what kind of garbage gameplay have you created. There is 0 skill involvement at this point, there is absolutely no diversity anymore since everyone uses a couple of the same sets and builds, there is 0 investment into learning anything besides which set does more instant damage without any effort. The PvP is complete chaos and I'm honestly becoming depressed because of it, since ESO became a huge part of my free time and truly functioning escape from the hardships of reality.

PvP is already dying at an alarming rate, and ya'll just want us to wait until the 1st quarter of next year before any updates? I can't even.....

But you play NB so..... I dont feel bad for you.

Wait for new world or ashes of creation coming out as ZO$ were very lucky they had little true competition when this game came out and COVID has saved them! Uncle Sheo has been involved to keep this terribly managed game afloat i swear!

Yip PvP did not and does not exist in this not so well thought out game.Unfortunatly for peeps who bought the game eso knows there is no real competition at the moment hence the "so what attitude " pity since the original idea and pve is good just as you have just said the game play and skills are sh.t at best..

I can still kill them and avoid dying myself, but the proc sets are enabling tanky builds to dish out high amounts of damage. I don't want to give into this new meta but I feel like I'm spending the vast majority of my time hitting an immovable brick wall with spikes, especially against Thews Necromancers, and they just have to hit me once and I'm back to healing myself just to stay alive. Not enjoyable at all.

And honestly, if this game is giving that much added stress, please take some time off from atleast the pvp side of it. Come enjoy the pve aspect of it for a bit if you're into that.😁👍🏻

I feel ya, it's always an uphill battle when I chose not to jump the band wagon against the plague that has swept across Cyrodiil. I find it rough dealing with high health proc builds like 40k+ health wardens that can deal an unbelievable amount of damage with Vateshran Ice Staff/Unfathomable Darkness/Crimson on top of dawn breakers and shalks while being able to eat up damage like it's nothing, and multiple baddies with one-button builds using poison injections to proc venomous smite and sheer venom dishing out surprising amounts of pressure with minimal effort. Thew users should get honorable mentions, but at least they can be ignored, another are magdks with a shock staff using sets like Undaunted infiltrator to achieve 18k per undodgeable heavy attacks, but not as common.

I understand PvPers will always find an outlet to use whatever cheese is necessary to win, but most of these builds have little to no weaknesses at all thanks to damage procs, malacath and health stacking. I'm using two damage sets with balrough for crying out loud! It's just ridiculous at the point, what else can I say.

Here here! I have also had enough of this meta. I too refuse to put on proc sets, but it is so hard to play when you explode every couple of minutes from light attacks. There is nothing enjoyable about PvP at the moment. Between proc sets and performance fun moments are extremely rare.

There isn't a good game with what ESO had, that I know of. For now we have to do without, since ESO doesn't have what ESO had, either. I get my PVP rn in a some combination of four games, all of which have their good and bad points, but none of them depress me. And they all work, all the time. So luxe.

Seems like this current proc focused meta has really taken it's toll on players in this game. Almost half a year of garbage PvP, it's crazy how ZoS just let it run rampant. More and more people have abandoned PvP in general these last few days/weeks and probably for the best. Q1 needs drastic balance changes on most of the overperforming item sets otherwise there really isn't much hope for 2021 for this games PvP scene.

Its getting obnoxious to see trolly tanky proc set builds and werewolves, or ball groups. All with CC that does not let you break free, and dots that can kill you before the 4 seconds it takes for the game to even acknowledge you purged. Thats pretty much the entire game now.

I've originally bought this game because of TES lore and the massive 600v600v600 Cyrodiil was advertised as. We quickly found out at launch that the game engine can not handle that amount of players and since then the pop cap has decreased several times down to what I think now is 125v125v125. No one knows the actual numbers which is a sad fact by itself.

In addition to reductions in player caps, we had many changes that detract from the overall experience in the name of performance, without actually notably effecting the performance in a positive way. Ranging from removing deer and other critters from Cyrodiil to the latest and worst offenders, limiting group sizes to 12 and preventing healing outside of your party.

This, along of a plethora of wrong decisions regarding game balance, has degraded the PvP aspect of this game to the point that only a small minority of people still endure the painful experience that is ESO PvP.

Since we don't have any official numbers, I can only provide anecdotal evidence: If I play in a campaign for one evening out of the 30 days the campaign is running, I end up being in the top 1000 players of my alliance. This, to me, is a very sad fact. This means there are less than 1000 active EP players in what is the most active campaign of PCEU (Ravenwatch - no CP 30 day campaign). If I multiply that number for 3 to include the DC and AP players, and then multiply it by 4 to cover all campaigns that means there are less than 12000 people actively playing in Cyrodiil in PC EU. I assume the PC US numbers are roughly the same, with XBOX and PS4 numbers being even smaller on both EU and US. Realistically, there are less than 50000 people still playing in Cyrodiil. It might seem like a big number, but compared to the game population - which is estimated to range from 6 million and all the way to 15 million - it means that less than 1% of the player base is actually participating in Alliance War PvP. What used to be the number one selling point of this game, and arguably the most fun aspect of it, has become an asylum for those who after 6 years have not learned it's never going to get fixed.

TL;DR: PvP will never be good in this game. Be a good boy and patiently wait for the next DLC like ZO$ intended

    Cyrodiil is 75vs75vs75
ESO monthly population across all platforms combined is less than 60,000

If you add bots and daily login farmers and alt accounts it could reach 200,000

There, the biggest error of argumentation has already been made. :p

Further, you are talking about the fact that there is no skill, but I see how players dodge each other and how quickly they use their abilities, so, according to my observations, the skill - reaction and strategy - is still present. I believe that you are wrong on this point too.

Yes, in my opinion you are right that the build variability has been stabbed. But I don’t think it’s something bad in pvp. When a lot of fighting each other people use the same sets and builds in a duel, the outcome of events depends more on their skill than on their equip, right?

Well look at what I said a couple posts above this. But you know what? I do feel entitled here, and why shouldn't I?

The skill differences DO exist of course, perhaps I've explained my feelings too briefly. What I'm trying to say is infact that skill makes little difference now while fighting groups because no matter how great you are at the game, when you get 5 stacks of 3 dots on you from people who literally only spam charge, or you get tethers and procs of burst damage in a sequence you're still dying. You still can't score a kill or take them out 1 by 1. Or you can be as bursty as you want on a stat build, maybe get that one kill and then you die in 1 second. Which is a sad turn off from the game.

I wouldn't mind for a second if I took the beating through equal skill and time investment as mine, thank you very much! It did happen pretty regularly before the procs you know? But at least there was something new to learn or adjust to. There were things you could try to figure out or play with. Now you can't do anything except use the same builds as everyone else, use troll builds that lack any real usefulness or even better - spend time trying to find ways to exploit the game to break the balance even more (as some players that I'm not going to name here do).

Be my guest, make the game easier on all accounts, but keep the diversity, combos and don't make it braindead. You just missed my point entirely.

Totally in agreement here. It seems as if zos introduced this proc sets nonsense to low-key alleviate server issues by enabling players to create 1-skill builds, hoping that it would decrease the load on servers since everybody would use 1 key only.

Proc sets stuff is out of control, there are unbreakable ccs, smaller group sizes which drives ppl further away by making sieges harder and making it harder to counter ball groups, etc., and many other long-standing issues. Honestly, I don't think things are looking good for eso and this is worrying.

We really need this year to be a year of true fixes and corrections rather than more content. Cyro is on the verge of death at last. Pop cap has been low-key reduced again lately I believe. But it doesn't matter if it is decreased to 10v10v10, it will still lag.

I totally agree: Cyrodiil and pvp overall is dying at an alarming rate. This needs to be top priority.

You are entitled to your opinion, but that is it.

You have the right to choose your continued play with the game, but not much else I'm afraid.

Argueing about skill on the internet, in an online game is laughable. Have a look at the world and have some perspective, then be appreciative for having something you enjoy.

But if it does bring you this much stress, then perhaps a new hobby is required. It makes zero sense to do something that makes you angry.

    Accept, and move forward.
