I'm in 2 minds about how I would vote

The one thing yes one thing that absolutely broke my heart 💔 was when zos STOLE my rapid manouvres skill that I had fairly done a training quest for in cyrodyl. This shattered my image of zos in such a huge way, it has tainted how i see them. I no longer trust them. For this reason alone I cannot vote pretty good.

On a positive side I come from TES fandom...loving all the TES games I love eso as my fave rpgmmo of all time thus far.
I want eso to do well so I dont want to sit here bashing the company when Im sure its not their intention to break things ....I want this beautiful game to succeed and continue onto 2030 and beyond tbh.I'll try to stick around for a few more years provided they dont STEAL anymore skills or rewards I worked for ingame....

Im still very hurt about my rapid manouvrs skill being taken from me....really helped my newbie characters get around when their mounts are low speed at the beginning...helped with questing...i could sure use it trying to get to these event daily locations on my newbie alt 😑😐😣

Personally, I keep visiting the forums because I want to know if it’s a good time to return to the game. I really, really love ESO and I wish I could play it on console, but it’s unplayable.

Started last Christmas, so much to look forward to, so much excitement! a new world to explore!. So much to do solo! and in 4 manes and in 12 manes. Always hearing the real end game is housing and cyr. So many promises to buy this to get the new shiny gear, only to be nerfed.

And then hoped in cyr in October and had flashbacks of large scale PVP memories of mmo's I played over 20 years ago.
I had thought this would be a better experience. Weeks and Weeks of live server testing in cyr, and more testing to come.
most all the streamers made really good suggestions for cyr.

The beauty of eso used to be u can play how you like solo, groups etc and could help others in the faction war.

Now we caint help our factions friends if not grouped, now we can't get a guild group easily and roam the war fronts.

I'll tell anyone it's the worst MMO I have played for and spent a lot of money on for a year.

This vote is solely based on games performance. I always love the content, stories and new features they add. This game has so much potential especially on consoles but really saddens me to see people leave game or not log in for months just because of performance issues. I'm in a couple hardcore pvp guilds and it's hard to even find a group running anymore due to group healer only, 12 man and poor cyrodiil performance

Its sad where game is now.. Everyone excuses because of covid, but for example PvP mess isnt because of covid its disaster after disaster.. From my perpective PvP needs to completely die to be fixed finally. Im playing sometimes but most of the time im asking myself why
Nowadays everything on PvP is running from keep to keep or avoiding ballgroups because of lag

Underwhelming

Greymoor was pretty good, there have been some great UI and usability gains, plus the sticker book that makes playing and grinding gear a million times easier.

Markath was a bug fest, that just wasn't up to standard, not to mention the lack of meaningful fixes to long-running problems.

I quit in august (after almost 4 years of pvp and pve endgame first on ps4 then on pc) because of the bad combat team decisions that ruined pvp and pve, patch after patch.

I logged yesterday and today just to say "hello" to my beloved characters and the game seems pretty empty compared to months ago, it seems that only 10% of the population is still playing.
My heart cry because eso could be the GOAT mmorpg but bad investiments and bad combat team ruined all the game.

Anyway, kudos to the graphic and quest designers, they always do an awesome job

hope my vote shows im trying to look at game in an good way still but play time is 1/3 of what i use to put into game as more then 3 hours in pvp makes for an bad day no matter if your winning or losing

and being i moved to pc(3k investment and leaving 1411cp account ) having 1st 3 months full of crashing or getting bugs when doing lil thing in the game like running , traveling , quing for groups , just play the game at times

then after getting some and i mean running bug and traveling fixed , que for groups got so bad my under 50 toons couldn't use system as it placed them in vet groups they couldn't travel to and pvp skill test was going too so game time went to 0 after crafting was done ,

YES WE HAVE SEE SOME GOOD QOL ADDS , BUT AT WHAT COST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAVING NICE THINGS YOU CANT GET BECAUSE THE GAME PLAY IS LACKING???????????????????

Speaking on strictly on performance, they can do much better. 2020 has been a train wreck of a year and ESO performance emulated 2020.

Continuing the ESO saga, adding new chapters and the community all get a gold star. ZOS's leadership don't get any gold stars or any stars for that matter, they need to step up their game in a big way and provide their customers a well running product, but I'm not going to hold by breath.

I've never seen any gaming company this negligent in regards to maintaining the integrity of their product. Any remotely competent dev team would have reverted U25 and the disaster it brought, along with the many complete failures throughout the year and prior. PVP players (in an already dwindling part of the community) were essentially told to conform to behavior changes or leave the game. The meta is a joke and should have been adjusted within 2 weeks of implementation. Surely the stockholders forcing the developer hands are educated on long-term opportunity cost and retaining your customers. We've been treated like we don't matter. Players have left in droves.

Hard to feel shame when you're too busy counting money, eh?

I think they did good. After the year we finally have some standards for all the gear and buff balancing. This makes balancing in general easier in the future. Mythic items added some new components to the game and the set collections make future changes to gear easier to do and to bear for players. Overall the game became more standardized which is a good thing given the additions.

The problem about the question is that the answer always depends on player type and expectations. There where bugs, even some severe ones, but not all players where impacted equally. So of course you see some ppl thinking its awful, while others are happy. The same goes for expectations for content and balance. You cannot make everyone happy, especially not in a game that has many different player types together. For you its hard to understand why players defend the devs, for others it might be hard to understand why you attack them.

During the year i saw many fights in the forum where ppl fight some sort of religious war about ideas where everyone thinks his idea or way is the best one. Often with disregards about the viewpoint of the other side or how their ideas would effect the other sides. You can see this in almost every thread regarding balance or ideas. At the same time you could see players getting mad about the devs not joining tinto these conflicting threads and picking sides. Everyone needs to learn this. Everyone also should take a step back and think about if so many things are realy "end of the world" grade bad or if they are in reality just minor inconveniences.

I think I will add Stadia to a positive addition this year. While I do share concerns about updates with that added complication, I just bought a copy on sale and linked it to my account and it works great on my iPad Pro. I don't see myself every playing much with a controller, but I am using it right now to just casually get mail on alts.

I do wish I knew how to send an esc key from the keyboard to get the main menu. Checking mail is much quicker by keyboard since gamepad menus are pretty bad. Would be nice to be able to just stick with the keyboard.

I look forward to trying this from a hotel room on a vacation when vacations are a thing again.

Other than all of the performance issues, etc that everyone has already mentioned [snip]. Things such as:

Most of the monster staves are turned around facing the user..how frikken hard would it be to twist it around to look normal?! Everytime I go to buy one I'm turned away because it looks ignorant.
Events are just the same things over and over. Oh I'm sorry..didn't they add the old life quest to the new life festival this time (or was I bored to tears the last few years and missed it then)?
Holidays should be represented in game. Every MMO I've played for 20+ years had towns decorated for the holidays or something to make it feel festive. I've been playing ESO since release and figured at some point they would add some cheer..Hell, even COD Warzone added some Christmas stuff on the in game home screen..and its in a prison!
Reskin after reskin of the same ol mounts..just how many versions of camels and Indriks can you make...
Antiquity system. I feel like I'm playing a phone app. Getting to lvl 10 was mind numbingly boring..

This list could go on a ways..just a few off the top of my head on lunch break.

I will give them credit, the zones and music are always well done.
