Why dont we have elemental succeptibility debuffs?

Just wondering why we dont have element specific debuffs. Having a debuff that increases the damage frost damage by x%. Thses type of debuffs could be distributed to classes that are lacking presence in group fights. Like magcro or NB.
Blastbones having one of these would be good as a secondary effect and give macro a purpose outside of Major Vulnerability.

:looks at elemental catalyst: ye. Macros have only major vulnerability.
I mean. I can't understand how did u give necro and NB those elemental buffs when sorc and warden are the lightning and frost classes.

Actual answer is because elemental resistances (and most of the other stat trappings of a single-player RPG) are either entirely absent or else very under-utilized in ESO.

You can see this with the vestigial element-specific resistances that some of the races have such as Dunmer having 2310 Flame Resistance which is... 3.5% resistance. Like, okay. That hardly moves the needle in any type of content.

A more mechanically confident game would have had much stronger resistances as well as weaknesses (in addition to zillions of other "crunchier" systems) but at that point we're not really talking about ESO anymore.

We do have a couple of these. Engulfing Flames places a debuff on the enemy that makes them take 10% more damage from Fire. It’s an excellent skill, and one of the most valuable debuffs for magicka DPS. This is the primary reason why there’s always room for a MagDK in groups.

There’s also a similar debuff for 10% poison damage, applied by the Morag Tong set.

I’d also like to see these types of debuffs for other elements.

I did not know about the morant tong debuff. It's weird that the only place you see it.

I always found the lack of real resistance for elements strange as well. They could definitely introduce some new debuffs and counter it with new ways to increase your resistance for specific element or poison types, it would be interesting to see.
