I`m proud owner of almost 4 year old Intel 7700k, I`m thinking of upgrading to Ryzen 5800x if there is more than 15% performance increase in ESO,
So anyone who owns some of the 5000 series Ryzen and wants to compare performance under specific circumstances please send me a message or comment here in the thread :)

    Im interested on seeing those results. My potato is 5 years old with i7 4790k. I want to see if going amd would be a better choise for my next build.

    It's a few generations behind, but my Ryzen 5 2600X has held up well, so AMD should continue to be a solid consideration moving forward. You may want to detail your specific circumstances, though, to help expand the discussion.

    I already specified that i`m interested in performance increase in ESO only, it is clear that in other games performance uplift will be significant.

    Only CPU clock speeds and Ram speed latency is relevant for ESO.

    Maybe my issue is my ddr3 at 1666mhz lol

    I usually have no issue with fps, only in towns and big boss fights that i see my fps drop to 40s

    Not exactly on the topic but I have i7 4790kand 1080Ti, I play on 3440x1440 100Hz. I used to have 40-50 FPS in Battlegrounds, I reinstalled the game, removed all addons and now I have 150 FPS in high MMR AAOE I have around 100 FPS.

    It was tough the first few days without addons but you can get used with it.

    There is nothing wrong with the 7700k, i use it and still get 220+ fps with max settings. You just need to tweak a few things in the video card settings to get the max performance and have the game enjoyable.

    Yes, I have two. A 500gb one for Windows, another one of 2TB for everything else. ESO is installed in the 2nd one.

    Pretty tough to beat out bots on a lot of new ryzen. I'm holding out for a 5950x but not planning to play eso with it.

    From what I remember you are running 9900k imo you would be better of to wait for Ryzen 6000 when they are on 5 nm and new platform (there is no upgrade path for Ryzen 5000 its last generation at AM4 socket)

    Anyway in Europe (or at least in my country) we do not have supply problems, but the retail prices for AMD are outrageous.
    5600x is 350 euro, 5800x is 500 euro....

    I've upgraded my i7 4770k for a Ryzen 5900X.

    32 Gb + 2080 Ti + Samsung 980Pro M2 NVME (I had these parts with my old CPU already).

    My FPS has just doubled (x2). It's insane. ESO is totally strong CPU and Ghz dependent.

    4.8 - 4.9ghz is achievable on the new ryzens,
    However they is more to power than just the Ghz, which is strongly pronounced in new games, so I`m interested to see if the new architecture benefits ESO as well.


    @Sarousse do you have Skype or Discord so we can discuss there and do some testing/comparisons in convenient time for you?

    Guys I`m still looking for that one person with new 5000 series Ryzen to share and compare performance, It has been more than a month since the CPUs were released.

    recently updated from a 4690k to a 5600x, like damn night and day, loading screens inside cities disappeared completely, and going from region to region takes ten seconds TOPS. With the 4690 it took several minutes (2 to 3) and two to four loading screens inside places like Senchal or Grahtwood. Eso has become smooth as butter and blazingly fast

    I ordered a ryzen 5900x with 64gb ram and 2tb pcie4 m.2 ssd pluss GeForce 3090. Still waiting for it but will post results when I get my hands on the parts. Pairing it with samsung g7 32 240 hrtz screen.

    Switching from i7 7700k and geforce 1080ti. I'm expecting a solid uplift! Only part missing now is the 5900x.

    This year I bought the R5 1600AF (basically a 2600) and every time I play one of my PC games it barely uses any of my CPU, it's crazy. Cant imagine what the fancy top of the line series is like.

    I would test a Ryzen 5000... IF I COULD FIND ONE! It's been sold out everywhere I check for over a month now. Not sure if/how anyone else is getting one, unless they are paying scalper's pricing but that would definitely not be worth it.

    Turning VSync off and adding some changes in the config file unlock the fps.

    My humble i7-4790 3800Mhz with 16Gb DDR3 800 RAM with MX500 SSD and a Radeon RX 480 8Gbis performing really nice...but it's from 2016 xD

    Let's find out your specs...because I'll need a new machine perhaps this new year.

    So unless you are running a fast gaming monitor you are really limited to the 60hz that most monitors run.

    I run a 3700x/5700xt @2160 and never drop below 60 fps, except in the occasional large scale scuffle in Cyrodil and then it can drop to 40.

    If I drop it to 1440 and disable vsync the fps jumps to around 200.

    I also run a ton of addons, many of them very draining but it doesn't break a sweat.

    Ditto. I run a 4790K locked at 4.4Ghz with a RTX2080 and it keeps the gamed locked at 60fps at 4K res.
