As long as we have control over the computers we play on, bots will happen.

Couldn't they locate and ban the PCs serial number? Is that possible?

If Zenimax put enough people on reviewing reports its not a problem. Just daily ban bots, and they will stop. Gold in this game isnt really that important, compared to many other games.

I use a game proxy that I subscribe to for reduced lag. Banning ip addresses of proxies need to exclude legitimate commercial services and their users.

Maybe I'm naive bit surely the simplest way to solve this is not award any XP or loot after you have killed a boss once? Camping on a boss by anyone (bot or human player) is a pain

I have posted it before but I think it is worth doing so again. Some footage I took the other day of botting in a dungeon in Auridon. I went in about 7 different dungeons on two alts during that day and they were all similar.

Interesting thing about this is that halfway though another character appears to come in and join the bot group. I don't think they are a genuine player because if you look they behave exactly the same way as the group in terms of timings and skills.

Was especially annoying in a dungeon in Rivenspire as all the monsters on the way to the boss were trolls. When I got the the boss I had no chance at all to get a hit on it after a lot of effort to get there.

I have also noticed that the bots sometimes appear to be leaving behind the names composed of random letters and instead seem to be picking random English words from the dictionary. It is still fairly obvious as these are mostly words you would never name a character.
