Also, if you're not doing end game solo content (vMA, vVH), Mundus and skill selection isn't going to matter as much.
And second: Mundus is very important in SOLO, mainly because you will never get to Armor cap on your own. That has an impact on every challenge (MA, WBs, etc.) in SOLO gaming. So Mundus should be use as a supplemental choice to flatten out your builds weak spots.About shadow or thief choice... It really depends. Both are very strong, and pretty similar around the 50% mark, it will depends on many things, CP, if you have sorc in group for minor prophecy, warhorn uptime, brittle uptime, etc etc.

He is running ring of pale order, more damage is exactly what he wants, to heal and stuff. I agree on the mother's instead of ilambris, as already mentioned.
I would definitely chose mother's sorrow 5th piece on monster set 2nd piece though.
Additionally winters revenge is a very, very, very strong dot, swapping it out for an inferior skill (fire rune) is not optimal, shalks, wall and winters revenge are all irreplaceable. Especially since burning spell weave has no proc chance, as long as you deal fire damage (wall of elements either morph from backbar) it will proc it.

I have to disagree on both! First, because this:And second: Mundus is very important in SOLO, mainly because you will never get to Armor cap on your own. I meant: Ring of the Pale Order (Surviving) over Ilambris (Damage).
I did not read the OP as: definetly running the Ring, no question! But rather as: I have three things I want to run, but only space for two!

Thanks... I'm going to get rid of the monster set and try it out.
On the backbar, I'll still only have 4 pieces of Mother's Sorrow because I'm using the Maelstrom staff.

I've experimented with Shadow, Lover, and Apprentice... and I think I end up doing (slightly) more damage with Lover - when I solo.
When I do group stuff then there's always over-penetration.
