ESO Statistics do not look good

I don't think that statistic is true. I use Steamspy chart. Steam is not all playerbase, but it review the trend. There are no way FFXIV have more player than ESO.

    ESO

    BDO

    Fallout 76
    https://steamspy.com/app/1151340

Base on these chart, I think ESO seem one of the most popular game atm

Like others have said. It's pretty well known with MMO's that the LARGE majority of players will play heavily when significant new content releases, play a lot until they burn through it, then pretty much leave till next years content. That chart is a pretty good visual of that. ESO's latest "chapter" is old enough now that most of the people that wanted to play it probably have and so now it will dip down to a "normal / stable " level. Then spike again when the next "chapter" comes out.

    Interesting site.

If ZOS could get a handle on the number bugs consistently released and work on getting some of the main ones we have fixed. As well as a true/better working Cyrodill then ESO would climb a lot in the overall ranking.

ESO has loads of potential. But they keep shooting themselves in the foot every time they try to run. Believe they know this as well and are working on it but change takes time and resources.

Be safe and have fun :)

I expect a lot of games are going to drop in popularity December 10th when a whole chunk of the RPG players move over to Cyberpunk

i think its fair to assert that if op had suggested the numbers were good there would still be an equal number of people telling them they were wrong..

Samuel Clemens says there are theree types of lies: lies, damn lies and statistics. I'm guessing he struggled with statics in college though. The mean persons complaining about statistics tend to not be good at them.... just a hunch though

There's nothing on that page to state where they source their information from. They literally state on the ESO game page that it's only on PC. Where are they getting their data from? Steam? Okay, then there's the people who play through the client, not Steam, and the Xbox and PS4 player base.

Frankly this is just a bunch of unverifiable numbers masquerading as statistics.

If the numbers are down as of recently, a lot of people tend to get seasonal jobs to help with money for the holidays and it picks back up when people are off for Christmas break before Spring semester of college. There are lots of factors to declines and inclines of players. It isn't all doom and gloom.

Seasonal jobs aren’t there really because of COVID

The active player base on PS4 has been on downward momentum quite a time.

    Amount of active keeps dropping.

...than again you look at the status the game is currently that is not suprising.

Wasn't there a lot if trouble for using the Steam version rather than the one bought directly from ZOS about a year ago? Since the game goes on sale for $10 regularly, maybe a ton of people migrated to the ZOS version.

With that many subscribers, it makes one wonder why things are managed the way they are.

His experience as well as mine and many others that have said the same thing, why deny it, the gane is a toilet right now, it's no surprise more people are leaving than any other time. I've seen 3 guilds cut at least 200 inactives recently, players not on for the past 2 months.
But I'm willing to bet you've seen a huge increase, coincidentally during an event or two...

    Ha. Ha. HAHAHA!

Sorry. For a minute there I thought you actually forgot about the vast number of people that work at stores. Grocery stores. Department stores. Walmart. Drive thru restaurants. Delivery drivers. Drivers for Uber and Lyft and the like.
