What do you mean by “where they matter”? As far as I know, chapter achievements are always their own separate grouping; there’s no overarching achievement for completing objectives in both Elsweyr and Summerset, etc. So I ask again, why do you need all achievements on one character? Titles aren’t account-wide, so all the more reason to complete the chapter or other content on whichever character you want to have the title.
If you enjoy completing everything on your main, that’s cool, you can do so. But if you want to complete separate content on different characters, you can do that too and you lose nothing — dyes, pets, skins, etc. are account-wide unlocks. So I ask again, why do you feel the need to play your main for the achievements when you say that is otherwise not what you want to do? What am I missing?

Exactly. It's your personal choice that pursuing some high "achievement score" on a single character is more important to you than, I dunno, having fun playing a game? You clearly don't want to "enjoy playing other characters" more than you want to 100% your achieves.
(which reminds me, I really really don't understand the whole XBox "Gamerscore" subculture - the idea of playing games & genres you don't even like, just because they will add to this 'score' is just baffling.)
maybe but at the end it is hard to enjoy o play single class for years just to have every achievement on this character
sorry but I like to have completed everything what is possible in game and sorry but you will get burned finally after playing only single character nonstop to achieve this, I would want very much to play with variety of skillss, classes to use but yet Im stuck on this single because I want to have everything complete
if I atleast could change class of my character......but at the end we are with possibility to create in total 18 different character and yet are we stuck to play single character only because an players group like to complete acheives in 100%?
It’s still your choice to continue to pursue achievements on your main, @iksde ... nobody is forcing you to continue something that is clearly not fun.
As I said earlier in the thread, there’s nothing secret about MMOs and their long list of achievements ... players already know the kind of grind it is before starting their first character.

It's a pain to have 10 alts and they all have some achievements. For example dungeon achievements for skins, trifectas, titles etc. Some toons have no death some speedruns, some HMs. But you need all 3 on 1 toon to get the skin, personality etc. I dont hunt the achievements, they just happen when they happen. If I played only my main I would have them all by now. So we are kinda forced to play only 1 toon if you wanna collect achievements.
Same goes for random pug trials that pop up in Craglorn. They ask to link clear in order to get invite, but my toons have all different clears. I dont have time to get all cleared for all content. So I cant join the run because I'm logged on with toon that doesn't have clear. Its stupid. Achievements should be account wide because skins, mounts, personalities are.

Titles being account wide would be an awful change. I take pride in getting difficult to earn titles on different characters. Why should an alt of mine have the former emperor title when he hasn’t been emperor? Why should another alt have flawless conqueror when she hasn’t even entered vMA? It makes 0 sense to have account wide titles.
I have never seen anyone ask for this, making wayshrine *discovery* account wide.... rather than an argument for allowing all characters to share the achievements so that, for example, when one character has discovered a wayshrine they all have ...
It's weird that you would pick that one thing literally nobody has ever asked for to make an argument against account wide achievements.

why should you character which didnt earned achievement weak just any skin or personality or costume earned from achievement which he didnt get but different character?
same why should your character be albe to use any dye he didnt get achievement for this? you didnt earn this all on your fresh alt and yet you can use it
we can still use on 1lvl character mount hardly earned from vSS channelges, make him wear emperors regalia at all so for what title? along with personality and skin from also very hard content?
see? this all is nothing different than simple title, if we cant have title for account wide why we have collectibles which are unlocked by achievements or vice-versa? if we can use every collectible account wide unlocked from achievement then why cant we use title as earned collectible?
and tbh title is less visible than very glowing from distanse skin or mount from hard content

It makes perfect sense to have skins, dyes, costumes etc to be account wide but titles show what you have done on that particular character like a badge of honour. Titles are perfectly done on this game to be honest and they should remain the way they are.

what sense? this is literally same case, your character is doing content and earning acheivement for which you are rewarded with skin or title
your new character never stepped on content with this rewarding achievement and yet you got skin to use when your character never been here at all
let me guess, you dont want to buy more runs than you can now get it unlocked for account?
titles are not different rewards for acheivements than skins, costumes, personalities, for everything you need to get achievement to get and yet all of this excapt 1 thing you have account wide while achievement is earned fo single character and is per character rather than account wide achievement

and thast it.....whenever I like to create my alt literally copy paste of my main and just to play different class for fun, for break from my main and yet I have literally nothing which I have achieved from my main or I would not get anything new for my main while playing me alts
If they dont wanna make achievements account wide it's fine but at least there should be some kind of sticker book like gear has so we can see what toon has what and be able to link clears etc. There could be even toon names at the bottom of the achievement if some people are thinking that toons somehow play themselves and earn achievements instead of me, the player.

I understand this mindset when it comes to the long-play type achievements, like kill 1000 wolves or whatever. These types aren't really meant to be grinded but more seen as an overall benchmark of time played, and so I can understand the frustration some people feel if they want to view their time played as a whole across thier account.
For me I view those things as a benchmark of time played per character and it's neat for me to be able to see how my habits are different depending on the character I'm playing based on the individual achievements they've each unlocked. So if I'm playing on a character and 'achievement unlocked: Wolf hunter' pops up on my screen (just a made up example) I can say, oh wow I must have spent a lot of time in zones with wolves on this character. And if it's a title befitting of the character I can set it as thier title if I want to because it's something they've actually done.
It's funny we both have similar motivation for our view points just from an opposite perspective. You find playing on alts to be a waste of time because every Wolf your alt kills is a wolf your main didn't kill. For me every wolf one character kills is a small step toward distinguishing them from the rest of my characters, and if achievements were shared I'd find playing alts a waste of time because all of those notifications letting me know I've reached a benchmark would've already happened while I was on previous characters.
I'm a little less understanding when it comes to the achievements we have more control over, like quest, dungeon and trial completion, or exploration, or crafting related. These are obtained more through set goals rather than happenstance and if you want the title for a specific character whether it's a main or not there's nothing really stopping you.
