I think a lot of people are feeling this way. The lack of transparency, refusal to acknowledge issues and communicate what's going on really IS a slap in the face. The reasons for accounts being banned or deleted (even on the forums) is just about ridiculous at times.

Rather, it feels like the customers are disrespected with a product that doesn't function, and when it does function it works in a way that rewards lazy play.
I have NPCs that are missing from my quests (I've put in a ticket through the game). Every night, the game crashes now. And there are builds in PVP that I can't kill wearing two damage sets yet they can hit me once and proc two effects that nuke my life-bar. What did I even spend years trying to be skilled at the game for then? It was a waste of time. And feeling like I've wasted my time is the big slap in the face as a paying customer.
I try to overlook the fact that old classes need to be updated while new classes that people have to pay to play are being added. There's enough in the game that can be expanded and deepened. And while good ideas come along (like leads to antiquities that can reward exploration) there's also the feeling that the game is only being expanded with the sole purpose of getting us to pay for the new thing. This again feels like a slap in the face.
The devs have done good things. When the old sets in the game were being adjusted and made more competitive, that felt good and made me excited to look at some of those sets again. I don't want to only point out the bad. It's just that the bad is so bad that it leaves me feeling like a fool for still being loyal to the game.

I tried. But the game is unplayable for me without ESO+, just because of the lack of storage for crafting materials. By themselves they already take more than the 240 slots that you can get max without ESO+, not to mention all the inventory juggling you have to do just to put the crafting materials in your bank.
I also don't own many of the DLCs, Markarth for example I could not play without ESO+.

I have to wonder if the game does not feel rewarding because much of the stuff we obtain is done through the crown store instead of "earning" it. Obviously there is a lot of content earned that is not done through the crown store like titles, but the amount of mounts, pets, outfits, houses, costumes that are only offered with crowns may not give us that same level of earned satisfaction. Its like how many teenagers treat their first car (often given to them) terribly, and do not respect it. But the first one they purchase with their own money is treated with much more respect.
