I have a question about sending gifts from the crown store

Okay, so I logged in a few days ago. I opened the crown store and saw the gift option. I clicked on it to see how it works. It says I need to wait 30 days to send a gift. Okay, that's not really a problem. However, every day since that I've logged in it still says I need to wait 30 days. So I'm not sure what's up. It says I need to be a subscriber OR buy a crown bundle as well. I'm just wondering if the clock doesn't start until I do that. Like I said it's said 30 days for a few days now. Some insight would be appreciated.

you need to buy a Crown Pack, or subscribe to ESO plus, and then wait 30 days.

Also says that it's automatically unlocked if you are an existing player with a history of Crown Pack purchaces or ESO plus

So if you haven't done that, then that's probably why you can't send gifts

Basically you just need to subscribe. It's a failsafe mechanic of a sort because of bots, gold sellers or even "exploiters" that can get crowns super cheap to buy gold and then resell it.

Just practically-speaking, you'd need to obtain crowns to be able to gift someone, anyway.
But, yes, it is the purchase of crowns or the start of an ESO+ subscription (which grants crowns to your account in a lump based on your renewal period; 1650 crowns per month. e.g., if you go with a 3-month renewal period, you get 4950 crowns at the start of each 3-month period) that initiates the 30-day countdown, which is in place as a measure against bot accounts.

So can I just buy the 750 crowns for $8 I think, and that will start the 30 day timer?

Because I want to get the full Greymoor digital CE while it's on sale, but apparently I'll need to make a new account (not a big deal I haven't played in a few years). However, my current account has about 10k crowns. So I don't want to lose those. I want to be able to gift stuff over to the new account.

I bought ESO on the 7th November I also took out the ESO+ right away, and then purchased Greymoor and 3000 crowns.. in game it still says I have 30 days to wait before I can gift, so I'm waiting to see if that changes at the end of 30 days or not.

Not like I'm planning to buy gifts anyhoo... so not really bothered.

IIRC, it is 30 days before you can gift, no matter how much you have bought. By the time I needed to gift something to a friend, I was a year into the game, though, so YMMV.

If it's a serious issue for you, perhaps set up a ticket, explain what it is you want to gift and to whom, and when you get the "bot" email, be sure to reply with the exact info you put in the ticket to start with.
