I am having a terrible time with latency which is probably the result of my ISP. They want me to do some ping and trace routing tests but I can't find the game's IP address. Can someone please tell me what it is or where I can find it?

You can try running the Game Consultant, that you can find from the launcher. Just hit the little gear-icon in the upper right corner, go to ABOUT tab, and run the consultant.

It generates a txt-file that has lots of information, you can post that file here to get it "analyzed" by other people.

The ping and trace results are almost at the bottom end of the textfile under "PING RESULTS" and "Pathping RESULTS"

I like the "Ping test failed!" part. Is this suppose to fail?

Not supposed to fail. Yours looks worse than mine, and I can't even get ingame today. It should give you a list of IP addresses on the second half, with similar numbers/layout to the first half.

For what it's worth, there appears to be at least one connection out near Wichita, Kansas, that is crapping out and giving 100% packet loss. This may or may not be affecting everyone, but it seems to be what is stopping at least myself from logging in. Gotta love Time Warner/Road Runner.

I am in Blue Springs Missouri and using Comcast. Maybe close enough that I am going through the same issue in a way. Whatever the issue is, what is going to be the fix?

Yes, are also more IPs listed and all say 0% except 3 that give no info during the hop.

    See my thread:

    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/76908/this-is-how-you-can-check-your-latency#latest

That will show the IP address and latency (using Windows resource manager) - but as pointed out in a reply might not be totally accurate. Works for me though.
Yeah, I got a PC. I just don't feel the need to post it's specifications for an ego boost.

I'm having issues while i'm trying to access from BS, MO as well. Comcast is the ISP here. I keep getting booted to limited connectivity which ultimately crashes the game. Have you found any resolutions yet? Hate getting DC'd after 10 minutes of gameplay at a time.

Well I checked through everything I had going and figured to go to the extreme of uninstalling and reinstalling the game in full. Deleted out any trace as well. When I went back to booting up I could get into the game fine. Still have massive issues with some load screens of death.

The weird thing is I could get on at certain times like late nights. I flushed my DNS, rebooted my router, turned off my PC, released and renewed my IP, used the repair tool, searched through the forums for hours and deleted out files the mods suggested, turned off and even uninstalled all my antivirus and antimalware stuff, and went through the help desk email of hell. Seriously hell, same guy asked me the same 5 questions and each time I gave every bit of info and then some.

For some reason it was right after this last patch. Seems like something got corrupted with the update and couldn't be fixed with conventional things. I would say try that.

Oh, my latency was around 50 to 40 ms. My Down is about 30 mbs, UP about 5 mbs. So what was wrong? No clue! Trust not the repair tool!

You guys can use the perfmon to check the latency and packetloss for eso.exe, since you cant ping the servers directly because they sit behind a sort of VPN (Akamai).
  • Deathianity

Yeah, had no packet loss. I verified the eso.exe like FezzikVizzini suggested in his thread.
  • chizarira39rwb17_ESO
I ran a game consultant and the support person that was helping me said that it was fine, which I am assuming means it is not something at my end :( And I am still not fixed, but I guess it is Easter weekend so maybe some more waiting to be done

So basically my latency problems start around 4pm my time (Aussie east coast) and last until about 2am my time. ISP is still saying it's not them- it's the game server. My internet runs fine, speed test gives me 13mb down and 0.62 up. Did all the flushing and resetting and what have you that I and my friends could think of. Here's my ping stuff from game consultant during the latency time - at this point I can't even log in

I get the same results, 2 days later. It is sporadic if it times out. I assume this to be linked directly to the launcher hanging forever at the "Loading" screen
