So at some point the home crafting table issue will be addressed by ZOS. By which I mean the number of Attunable Craft Tables (ACTs) have become to great to place in homes while enjoying them for other uses. Too little space to fit them along with other furnishings and enjoy housing. I'm sure it's up there with the requests to increase furnishing limits and I would guarantee that it's much easier to consolidate the ACT system than increase home furnishing space. So what's the solution?
A new singular Attunable Craft Station (ACS), similar in build and utility to the current Transmutation/Reconstruction Station.
You're probably saying "Well duh, that's a simple solution and should have been done already" and you're right, it is a simple solution. But the problem doesn't lie in the station itself but reconciling it with the previous ACTs. I'm guessing that ZOS has been trying to do this for quite some time and due to the coding of ACTs can't "feed" the current ones into a new system. Too many convoluted checks and balances that make this cumbersome. So the second problem is how to address this?
The solution is probably entirely unpopular but in the end what will occur: you don't. You leave current ACTs as they are and instead they act as a "legacy" item much like Glass Motif Fragments, older version runestones, and Pre-CP unique weapons. They're left in the game, usable, but ultimately left behind by a better system/utility.
The ACS would function like furnishing spaces or more closely available bank slots. Upon purchase it will come with X amount of available slots for which you can add a crafting table set to. To unlock more slots beyond the original granted you would have to unlock them using an item purchased with Master Writ Vouchers or possibly with Crowns. You can master craft and unlock them for free over time as a master crafter or pay in real-life. And as more DLCs/Chapters come along ZOS would simply add more available spaces, same as it occasionally adds collectable furnishing spots or how it used to increase CP.
Now I know this would be unpopular with those who have spent untold hours amassing ACTs in their homes and now they can't be used with a new system. And yes, progress often requires sacrifice. But the boons would outweigh that negative for you get more home furnishing space not encumbered by 200+ tables. You get a system solidified for the future. You get a way to add tables beyond master writs vouchers (if the crown option was also implemented). And you get a reason to do and use master writs. Instead of tossing out all of these blue jewelry writs or selling off writs you won't do you now create a new reason for people to craft, excel, and engage in commerce with one another to add these stations in. And that's necessary because the amount of master writs needed to get every table now is so high that it turns people away from trying to collect and that's a problem in and of itself.
So those are my thoughts on it. I know it's all theory and supposition as well as that there are many that won't agree or hate the idea. Still please chime in constructively on what you think,
