Memorial tribute to players that have passed away in RL.

Hi @ZOS_GinaBruno, @ZOS_Adrikoth , just a few to run this by then possibly your whole team.

There have been some great players in your online creation, and community that sadly have passed away and gone to Sovngarde.

To honour these members could you please consider some or all of the following?

1. A roll in your forums with member ID?
2. An event or reward to honour the fallen of your and our online community? (Possibly in a witches festival reward or other event.)

I have a few ideas of types of items for example an Obelisk, wall of honour, a beacon to the fallen, or eternal flame of the honoured dead, large house items for those honoured departed members, a tribute to them for members to come.

Even though they may be in other parts of the world as like family or close friends we may personally know they too their presence and comments are missed by those that had the privilege
nay where privileged to had chat got to participate with them and have known them even if a little.

Without your well it's more than a game, more than a massively multiplayer online role-playing game it is an online community with building friends and associates one would never have had contact with without your and the players commitment to one another to form this community that is ongoing and changing.

For your and others consideration please.
Thank you.

Maybe make their Main Character an NPC and their other characters buried honorably in the courtyard of their primary residence.

I don't think this is a good idea, mainly because you don't have permission of the person being memorialized. A private service for those who want to honor the lost would be much more appropriate.

Agreed. Something more subtle and personal like customizable plaques for homes that you can put messages on would also be a nice touch.

Thanks for that link I appreciate it.

I had a look and did a post. Thanks heaps.
    .
Before I posted I searched and did not come across that one.

Not disclosing the members real name but they could use their account name as it would not be violating ZOS terms and conditions if ZOS did it.

I do agree with your sentiment and guilds could run their own memorial tribute every year and do a guild wide activity
the departed one liked to do best.

Just something to show everyone we respect and hold those in our memories and for future players they were valued members of the ESO community and greatly missed.

To be fair, that was what that thread was about. I remember because I was there. I don't care if that person thinks it's a good idea or not because they can't choose how someone else decides to mourn a friend or loved one, and quite frankly, pathologizes grief. It's no one's business if they have a plaque of a lost one with their name on it, and that's what that very thread proposed. A headstone, some kind of marker, that we could just put text on.

Thank you your on the concept.

Even something for one's homes or in guild halls or both..

They are running a community event with community prizes for participating guilds, they where a part of the community so in my opinion they should be given an honour to show all they where valued members of the community.

Thank you for your posts greatly appreciated.

I do hope ZOS at least consider this proposal and raise it for everyone's benefit.

Regards to all and those dear departed in RL and in game may the memories of you all never die.
