Do we need Craglorn?

A couple of people have mentioned housing in this thread. Sorry to disappoint, but I REALLY can't see this happening. Why? Because the phased megaserver is totally the wrong server setup for housing. You would end up going to where your house should be and 99/100 times finding that you're in a different phase to your house.

    Sorry, not going to happen
    Well, not entirely true.

The player's house could be instanced, In the world is a generic house but when you enter you go to yours, just like entering a dungeon.

Maybe I'm just wishful thinking but I love housing in other games, Rift's Dimensions especially, so ... /hope.

It is interesting to see how VET10 endgame players get always so pumped up, screaming their wants and needs and spitting fire at anyone else - exactly the same things they do in a lot PvE instances. The other players are much more tame, talking like normal people, using logical argument instead of condescension and disdain. Veins-popping VET 10 drama queens are in need, lo and behold, all tremble for THEIR is the only right way to PLAY!

We DO need it. If only to have a high level area to hide from the botters/gold sellers. That is until they start leveling characters to VR10 in 5 minutes from hacks and bugs.

People are VR10 within the 30 day free trial already. And compared to the old MMOs, lvling is foolishly quick anyways... Well within the reach of bots.

Which is more important for ZeniMax: Creating end-game content for the small handful of people who blew through ZeniMax's several years of hard work to create this game in just a few days OR fixing the quests / bugs for everyone else who is taking their time enjoying everything ZeniMax worked hard to make?

Those people who are already VR10, congratulations. Everyone has their own playstyle. That's how you want to play and that's fine. But most people want to enjoy everything ZeniMax made for them. And (probably) ZeniMax wants them to enjoy their years of hard work.

So in terms of public approval, fixing mistakes will definitely take priority.

If you're already VR10 then (for most of you) there are still large parts of the world and story lines you haven't experienced. Why not explore and enjoy the game that the people at this company worked hard to make?

How would you feel if you were a ZeniMax employee? A small group, which (probably) didn't take the time to admire your creation, is demanding more content...even though they rushed through months (?) worth of content.
And another huge group complaining about bugs, asking your to fix the thing you worked so hard on.

Furthermore, in terms of doing business, it's much more profitable to help the huge group.

The question should better be, do we need a whole zone only for large groups - is it worth it, or will it be a waste of resources where only 5-10% of the player base will be able to go.

We do need this kind of zone in game, it will keep folks interacting with each other.
Wow is running that type of content since many years, WOTLK to be precise. The only stuff they add are those large scale raids, the subs are bleeding heavily and without the Asian market, they might not even scratch 2 million now - down from 10 million at the end of TBC.

The game was actually far more difficult before WoTLK, something like 5% of players got Hand of A'dal and far fewer saw the original lvl 60 Naxx and SWP.

I think it depends on the type of player. I recently returned after nearly a 3 year hiatus and I am finding plenty to do in game and most importantly, multiple ways to get to end game content, whether it is via PvP, Solo-PvE or Group-PvE. You don't even need to be part of a guild to kill the current final boss anymore, just prep your gear, know a basic rotation and hop into LFR. People who enjoy a classic raiding experience can still join a guild and down the content the old way, albeit at a much higher difficulty level.

Honestly, MoP is the most fun that I have had with an expansion since BC.

WoW always "bleeds" subs a few months after the last major content patch of an expansion comes out, most of those return for the launch of the next expansion. The only way that game is going to die is when Blizz stops developing new content and permanently shuts down their own realms.
I personally hope that ZO will do better and not only go for the large scale content. We still don't have a crime system and lack some important NPC guilds. It might also be wise to add housing soon, its an essential part of the ESO world.

Agreed, hopefully Zenimax will develop content with a broader range of play styles in mind. I am disappointed that the Dark Brotherhood was not added in with launch.

We certainly don't need an entire zone of group-only content, with nothing at all to do for those who detest grouping as a way of life.

Uh welcome to every decent mmo since evercrack?
Go play a sniper on rush in bf4 for your solo epeen needs.

And for bugs in vr content haven't had a quest I couldn't complete yet, just two world bosses that didn't give credit. Hardly game breaking. I look forward to craglorn. Now to grind out this 3 mil experience needed to hit vr 8.

Unless Craglorn is hopelessly broken it is great PR for the game. A (relatively) good launch plus new content within a few weeks will attract good press. Plus, adding Craglorn shows they are intent on giving fresh content over time. Just because it will be quite a while before I ever touch it doesn't make it a bad thing. I will never touch much of the PvP system, but I don't begrudge the folks who want it any time they give it either. It takes development of new content for all play styles that will keep this game going.

Yes, there are only 3 instance dungeons (level 1-50 & optional) that are mandatory grouping.

I mean we still have bugs in first locations, and after Craglorn (with hundreds new bugs) they will never be finished.

They're fixing bugs, slowly but surely. & I've never heard somebody cry about an MMO adding content, dear lord. Guaranteed if they didn't add the content you'd be complaining about them not putting it in game.

    Never ending.
