✭✭✭✭✭? Of course it is. The company is bound by the restrictions existing in every nation. If your nation doesn't allow such things, you can't participate. That's not a ZOS issue, it's a "your nation" issue.4 -

It is not an international law issue but a local law issue. I would suggest contacting your local officials and express how you are upset that the laws where you live forbid the company from letting you participate. Work for change and hopefully, they will change their laws.
And the answer Zos has already given is they think this is right. They have attornies employed and under contract to make sure when they do things like this they are in compliance with the law.1 -

Every context ESO has run has had areas that could not participate due to local laws in those areas.1 -

I hear you OP. It would be nice to get some empathy ...here I hear you cos I cant get it either im aussie. I guess they dont know what it feels like to miss out. Its like when we were kids our parents tried to be fair handing out the cake or sweets so we each got one and noone would go without. Its like empathy is being killed off.
We all pay for the game one way or anither yet those that miss out on this contest are not allowed to express their sadness...just not allowed.0 -

iGuavaTH✭✭✭I believe that there's other ways to make those in-game sweepstakes available for more countries. In my case, being a resident of Thailand, just calling it a sweepstakes make it unlawful.
They could make everything in-game, i.e no registration, which in my case means a ticket, which is against the gambling laws.
Make it so we get a chance to win things in the game, which has no monetary value, That is no crowns or equivalent, just by playing the game.
They could just put the rewards in treasure chests or antiquity leads .0 -

And raises the question of whether to run these specific type of events if they’re going to make so many people feel left out.
It’s nice of ZOS to think of doing something community-oriented (yes, I understand the PR element as well), but haven’t they done other community-oriented things that don’t leave so many by the wayside? If they’re running something that’s illegal or heavily restricted in so many places, perhaps they should reconsider this kind of event so they don’t exclude most countries in their attempt to make people feel included.
Even though I’m in a country that’s allowed to participate, I don’t feel it’s properly “Tamriel Together” when so many players aren’t eligible to participate. The intentions may be there, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. While I know many guilds are working hard on their submissions and a few will have that effort recognized, I feel badly for those who never had the chance to try — especially as the language of the event suggests they aren’t really part of Tamriel after all.1
