The item I find most pathetic is the Crown Store Soul Gems. 10 of those towards the end of the month? Seriously?

What's even more annoying is that there are two different kinds of these, one that drops from crates and can be converted into crown gems, and the one that you get from daily rewards that won't even let you do that. The two types won't stack even after the gem conversion timer has expired, and they would occupy two slots in storage just to keep a few of them.

The crown store gems had some utility before One Tamriel, when soul gems had levels and you could end up being short on the right kind of gems right after you leveled up to a new tier, but I wish they would just remove those and hand out a bunch of ordinary soul gems instead. And make that stack larger, like 100. 10 is just pathetic.

Lol, what is this trash? :D:D:D

Ogm, this company needs to seriously change it's PR and policy towards it's community. Never seen a company being so alienated and unrewarding towards it's customers.

Well they are pretty disappointing but hey if some find them useful or are new then at least there is some use in them.

I don't need any riding lessons. What I need is AP on all my characters who lost Rapids, and I don't see any of that. :(

We've had TWO months of double AP in cyro. And with all the crazy defence ticks it would be a matter of hours to get to Assault 5 on any amount of characters.

As someone who just made a new toon to level during this double XP event, I’m pretty pleased by the riding lessons. I’ll get use out of those, much unlike I would from my 500th pet, costume or emote.

I know some of this stuff is nice for new players, but when I was a new player there was a mount in these rewards (Glowgill Guar). I'm sure some potions and riding lessons are still nice for new players, but I doubt they have the same effect as a mount when you don't have many mounts yet, so I'd say this isn't really great for new players or longer term ones.

Collectables other than emotes still make me want to log in every day. I want them. They are something nice to have. But this month is the first time I have felt like posting in one of these threads, as well as the first time I have found myself thinking a month of not worrying about logging in is fine.

I certainly don't expect a mount every month or anything I personally would use every month, but some kind of collectable once a month would be nice if they want this to be a serious log in incentive for as many players as possible.

Just hoping December will have something nice...

This is a very good point, sure the riding lessons are very useful for new players, but new players don't have many mounts, pets, style items or costumes either. I would think a costume would be far more of an incentive, given that new players also do not have hundreds of motif styles to use on outfits. There's nothing there that has the 'wow' factor to encourage anyone to bother logging in if they weren't going to anyway, and surely that's the point? Not a complaint, I often forget to log in even if there is something tasty there, just an observation really.

I consider cosmetics the most useless monthly reward, and I would feel even more strongly about that if I was a new player who could benefit from the other things they give away. I would definitely take horse speed over a pet, mount skin, or costume if I has someone to level. I guess I'll keep them for character 19.

The item I find most pathetic is the Crown Store Soul Gems.

I've got so many stacks of filled soul gems in my bank that I sometimes withdraw a few stacks and sell them to my merchant assistant just to free up a few bank account slots, so I've no need for Crown Store Soul Gems myself. But I always give them to my main, then have my options set to give priority to Crown Store Soul Gems when reviving, and also use them to recharge my weapons, to help get rid of them as quickly as possible.

I completely understand this point of view, but a single collectable a month doesn't prevent people with this viewpoint from getting consumable items they might find useful on all but one day. For those of us who mostly find these items to be annoying clutter the enjoyment that used to be associated with daily rewards is now gone.

(It's maybe an even bigger issue when you consider it in connection with other things like the Cyro changes... for some people a reason to log in each day might have been what was needed for them to stay involved with the game at the moment.)

Free stuff is free stuff either way, but I really hope this isn't going to become normal.

I am of the opinion that the idea is to benefit new players. Established players see nothing useful but since i started over on NA server with a new toon on each account, i find these rewards very useful. 30k gold isnt much but its something when i had nothing before. 10 riding lessons are useful as well to me. On pc eu server i prolly wont find this stuff as useful when i look at my many stacks of tristat potions and the like... the crown fortifying meals wont

I mean, I'll use most of it. The food and potions are nice when I'm feeling too lazy to get actual food on my tanks. But, yeah, this is uninspiring. 10 Crown speed lessons? Not sure if I'll junk them, or wait for the inevitable new class getting announced next year (if they keep to pattern.)

Now it just incentivizes me to log into other games. Oh well.

....and this is when you know that a company is doing the wrong thing, when their customers seek satisfaction elsewhere (and where a customer goes, so does their wallet/purse).

That being said. The daily rewards are just free to me. I don't pay any attention to them.
THAT being said. I wish the crown stuff could be traded in for purple gems. It would be a huge step in showing good faith that customers are not just looked at as walking purses/wallets.

No, I meant a few hours to complete on every toon possible. I got 127k for one def tick two days ago, literally 10 minutes of spamming Lethal Arrow from the keep wall. And it was a harvester toon. Anyway, your loss.

Yeah, it's a pretty boring month. Nothing unique.

If they had anything special on there, especially in the last few days there would be players whining more than a 747 starting up about not being able to get the rewards thanks to the login servers ot working after the patch :D

Well, and back then the rewards were, usually, 20 days long or so. Even when they've gone to full calendars, ESO's daily rewards schedule's always been pretty forgiving.

Which is fine. There was stuff, like the 10 Dwemer crates in a month clustered at the end, after the grand prize, as an incentive to keep logging in, and I do think that was a good idea. It played havoc with the gem economy, but it got people into the game on a regular basis.

I wouldn't expect ZOS to put every DLC in the daily rewards, because that is unsustainable, just like I wouldn't expect unique rewards every month without fail, but the habit of recycling old crates, from years past, into the rewards AND putting them back in the store briefly was very attractive.
