is there seriously no doorframe which fits the WORKING DOOR

simple question/rant they added an actual working door (solitude door, arched wooden) to the game for housing, i am grateful for this......however as far as i can tell the ONLY doorframe (solitude archway, stone) is not small enough to accomodate this door, moreover, it seems there are no other door frames (atleast in solitude style) which do.....is this an oversight? or am i just missing something?

    thanks for the suggestion, still......a massive oversight, its 1 step forwards 1 step back it seems, we get working doors....no frame....or we get a frame, and no working door (im looking at you daedric doorway)

    I was hoping it would because I want to close off some sections of the home. I'd just get one and try it but I don't want to waste the crowns or gold if it doesn't work.

    I played another game once where you could resize all furniture items. I wish they would do that here but I know it probably won't happen.

    Yeah, I'm at my wit's end with housing in this game as far as custom building goes. I'm having the same issue... working door but NO DOORWAYS for it?! What are they even trying to do here? It's like they WANT to make things as awful as possible. It's infuriating, honestly.

    I keep getting excited about custom building something only to realize that I can't because of various reasons. Every single building material in the game has some sort of weirdness that makes it almost impossible to use outside of very specific cases.

    If you are thinking of doing a custom build the soloution @Ragged_Claw pointed me to does work, for me it looks a bit imperfect but it works

    Wow, I’m astonished that there is no doorway for it! I thought I had just missed something... It wouldn’t be so bad if it were a rectangular door as you could make wall pieces fit, even make a proper door frame with wood beams, but an arched door is more challenging.

    I think I will try making a door frame of stone blocks (the cheap ones from the Home Furnishing vendors and will post if I can come up with something that looks good.

    I do want to say that I really like a lot of the furnishing introduced with Elsweyr and Greymoor — the structural components and more shelves with and without books and various food items! And I do like the look of the Solitude stone walls and archway! I am only baffled if no frame was made for the door! :lol:

    It fits the Proudspire Manor's two doorways but I'd love for a doorway furnishing to go along with the door so I could stick it in more of my homes.

    I wonder if it will fit the house in Shalidor’s Shrouded Realm? I’m so excited about that house because it’s the closest thing we all have gotten so far to a traditional wizards tower, even if it is all run down.

    I placed the stone arch first then the door, fit just fine for me.

    Could you share a pic? I tried this last night and the stone arch appeared too wide to fit the door (also too tall, but that is nothing when the arch can be sunk down).

    The doorways for the upstairs bedroom and the smaller room on the lower floor? Do you know if the Solitude gate fits those, too?

    Solitude gate is taller and does not fit those doorways. Here's a couple of pictures of my proudspire manor with the Solitude doors.

    I just installed the doors in my Proudspire Manor too, and they work wonderfully 🙂

    I see a lot of issues like this with housing. There is some serious disconnect somewhere in the art department.

    I am happy to see actual doors being made for the game, but if they are not going to make a frame for the door, then the doors should be a standard rectangle shape, not arched as any form of curve is going to be much harder for the player to work around.

    I don't really understand how someone can be instructed to make a door in the art department and the same artist not being given instruction for a frame.

    I have spent the past 6 years or so in between building games and MMO's and its frustrating to see these issues that other, smaller studios seem to have no issues with.

    The gate fits my house (amaya lake lodge).
    So this video might help.
    However I totally agree with OP. The doors are not implemented very well.
