Looking to know what the best Best Tank Class And Race for vet dlc dungeons and vet trials.

There is no best in either class nor Race, there are pros and cons for all of them and not all classes are best at all types of content or group compositions.1 -
Stinkyremy✭✭✭✭✭I'm biased as I am a sword and board nord in all TES games since morrowind. Fortunately for me nord is one if not the best class for tanking because of natural damage resistance as well as you can pretty much completely ignore frost damage ever causing you any hassle eliminating the fear of an entire element of damage.
Though, in retrospective I would rather had been an argonaian because argonaians completely eliminate the concern for one status effect, disease but more importantly have massive resource gain from potions and in reality the tank game is one huge resource management game.1 -

Imperial for resources and cost reduction
Shoes and Wallets (edit: Argonians, I was told it is somehow "unclear") for big resource bumps when you use potions

Majkiy✭✭✭DK is the best class, no questions there imo, for races I tried Khajiit when I first started ESO
then I tried Argonian and I ended up with Nord and been Nord for almost a year now and I am completely fine with it on vet trials/dungeons. 0 -

If you are realy looking for minmax I would go Imperial for Maintanking and Orc for Offtanking.

Paramedicus✭✭✭✭best class is DK obviously, because it is the easiest one to play, thus making viable for any group. they have great survivability (green blood), proper pull, and ok aoe CC (tho i prefer to swap it for some hard CC usually).
my philosophy is simple: if something is easiest to play, then it is best - so DK is best for tanking and templar for healing (when healing was needed).
however this view may be not valid if u stick with stable team/guild full of good players. Then u may benefit greatly from choosing other class and min/maxing with them.
as for race, not sure why Imperial would be best one? Dont get me wrong, not saying it is bad (i would have hard time choosing the best) but its sustain depends on your ability to do direct damage (red diamond passive) and you really dont have much time to actually do direct damage in hardest content. So realiable is only 3% cost reduction part of that passive. One could argue that you get better sustain from argonian in 'real life' scenarios.
anyway, imperial/nord/argonian are valid options. nord gives also small ulti regen which is nice for sustian too.
I prefer argonian because as tank you dont die from damage but from lack of resources imho :>

Unless for example your team is all stamina and in currently stamina meta they would probably be no NB DPS so the tank would have to be a NB for highest possible DPS boost. Like I said, group composition matters so nothing is be all end all in terms of class or race.0 -
Saubon✭✭✭DK is the most versatile tank for both 4 man content and trials
Sorc is by far the sturdiest tank here with highest block mitigation
Templar tank is the best roleplay option here

Race is going to be a matter of taste, but DK tank is going to be the best class, hands down. It is the only class with a leash in its tool kit and the passives are amazing for the tank role.
As for race? People are going to say either Imperial, Argonian or Nord, (MAYBE the Orc), but it really just depends on your playstyle and build. I prefer Argonians for tanks because it makes sustain stupid easy. Crafted tri-pots will basically give you back all of your resources, which allows me to emphasize other attributes in my build other than sustain.0 -

✭What this thread shows is the need to define terms. When we ask what is best at tanking we often think different things. Paul clearly was thinking about group buff synergy, likely in trials and with current patch in mind. Anybody saying Argo Ian is probably thinking that sustain is the most significant factor in tanking. I personally think in terms of a combination of tankiness and crowd control.

Argonian offers the best sustain which is my favorite.
Nord offers the best ult regen.
Imperial offers some cost reduction. If we used skills constantly as a DPS does it would be great. However, that 3% becomes less effective for tanks which is why other sources of sustain are so beneficial. Pretty sure that cost reduction does not apply to block and even if it did we would still receive less than 3% because of all the other % cost reductions it would be working with.Edited by idk on October 9, 2020 4:53AM0 -
