Push To Talk Using Logitech G510 Keyboard and/or Logitech G700s Mouse

I've seen a few posts about using G keys and how ESO may/does see those keys with macros as botting. When I use Mumble or TeamSpeak I push to talk so everyone doesn't hear my life on this side of the monitor. I have a G key set up for that. I am wondering if I use the ptt button playing ESO will they see this as a bot attempt? Would it be better to set the ptt key up on my mouse? Thanks!

I highly, highly doubt that simply using the G keys on your keyboard is going to trigger some kind of macro detection (assuming they even have some kind of macro detection in place). When a company says they ban the use of macros they usually mean a macro that, with a single key press, triggers multiple button presses, possibly with delays in the macro to automate actions in game.

If all your G key is doing is acting as the PTT key for teamspeak/mumble, I don't see any problem.

Yeah that is all it is doing. I set it in Mumble as my ptt key and of course press when I need to say something. Now my setup is a bit different because of other keys I use. My ptt key is actually pressing three keys: right ctrl, right shift and right alt with a 25 millisecond delay so that is why I am a bit concerned.

I wouldn't be able to live without my g700 mmo gaming mouse. Makes the game much more fluent. It would be a bit ridiculous to consider that cheating....

I use the G keys all the time, it's not botting at all and is not recognised as such.

    I have a G13 game pad, a G510 keyboard and also a Razer Naga 12 button mouse.

All G keys and all mouse buttons are assigned to various things, I never use the actual keyboard unless I'm typing something in chat.

My G510, I press one key, it changes to Guild chat and says "hey", another key salutes, another key changes to Group chat etc, hardly giving me any advantage.

The mouse buttons, 1 - 6 are mapped to my skills, 7 to jump, 8 to map, 11 to "h" etc

The G13 I use instead of the keyboard as I have locking finger probs and this helps a lot, I have it set as follows (I also have the joystick set to w,a,s,d which isn't shown)

Even if this was a completely different situation, it still wouldn't matter for what your doing as you are using a key to operate a completely separate piece of software.

hehe on a separate note, was playing with setting up various G510 keys to say certain messages to guild, I tested them putting about 8 messages in a row, was thrown straight out of the game with a message saying I had been thrown out for chat spamming.

Gota be careful there, because they are starting to do stuff against spammers. Not a single spammer this morning.

I wish they would do something about the boss bots. That needs to stop ASAP. Yeah chat spam seems to be better. I would rather have chat spam vs bots all over the bosses in the dungeons.

I think bots are next on their radar. It is getting to a critical point now. I hve seen some dungeons where you MUST kill the boss to obtain quests where there are 20+ bots crowded around the boss -_-

I have to add, and I am certain that I am not the only person that has this issue.

You mention maybe making your PTT button one of your mouse buttons, I have a Logitech MX518 mouse, but the problem also persists on the Razor Naga and the Sidewider X8 mice that I have tried from home too.

With setting my PTT for any Voip (vent, mumble, raidcall, teamspeak) as one of my thumb buttons, I am unable to action things like lockpicking and channeled attacks. However, this is not at fault with anything to do with ESO, as I have this same issue with GW2, WoW, PS2 and Aion. I am certain it is the limitation of multi commands through some mice on a Windows 7 64bit system.

Yep, I've decided not to use them for guild chat messages, I've just set them up to change from group, guild1 and say instead

Ah good to know. Thanks for the information! :)
