if they are going to nerf maim and other defensive buffs and debuffs. they are going to need to nerf heavy attack number values for enemies and bosses in trials and dungeons, right now most of them are overkill values unlessblocked. end up doing 50-60k+ damage after 30k+ resistances so just unsurvivable unblocked and some are quite barely survivable when blocked. they are going to have to adjust that or tanking will just be a nightmare.

Lol. damage is the most basic component of every MMO ever made. more dps is always a good thing. Tanks are already turtles in endgame. we dont need it to be worse.
Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.
You can make up for the Minor Maim nerf by Void Bash set (classic process, nerf old things to make new paid ones look more appealing). On Lord Falgravn HM or Nahviintas HM, you can have off tank wear Void Bash to not bother MT with slotting Power Bash. Other than that, I can't think of fights where additional general mitigation is needed.
If you don't like the void Bash solution, you can try Vrol (jewelry+lightning staff) + Jorvuld on your healer. That way, you get solid uptime on Major Aegis on whole group.
Personaly, I would fall into cash trap and go with option A as it's much more convenient.
