I'm doing my part (SCRYING) to get YOU your FREE HOUSE. What can I watch while scrying?

Alrighty, I've already pulled two 18 hour shifts and starting my third non-stop session of grinding scrying during this Lost Treasures of Greymoor event. I must have contributed at least 5% to the total community tally with my efforts, to help you all get your FREE HOUSE.

I feel like I'm at my burnout limit though. I have to keep this up for 9 more days???? Kill me now. Scrying is so soul-crushingly boring. I could do scrying with one hand and half a brain.

Help me stay motivated and suggest something I can do with my other hand and the other side of my brain. What are some good TV shows or movies I can binge on my laptop while scrying on the other screen? Are there some good audiobooks, preferably educational ones, as I feel my brain melting under the mind-numbing repetitiveness of scrying.

It won't last 9 more days, at the last update we had completed 53% so I see it over before the 5th.

You could watch Snow White and the seven Dwarfs and sing along to this as you dig :D

We dig dig dig dig dig dig dig in our mine the whole day through
To dig dig dig dig dig dig dig is what we like to do
It ain't no trick to get rich quick
If you dig dig dig with a shovel or a pick
In a mine! In a mine! In a mine! In a mine!
    Where a million diamonds shine!

Ah, here's another one! If you enjoy comedy that has an educational bent, check out the podcast "The Dollop." It explores subjects in American history that are...interesting.

+1. XP grinding to get a new character up quickly would be intolerable without The Dollop. Hundreds of episodes to listen to by this point.

Also, 'The School of Life' on YouTube has a 'curriculum' series about broad lessons drawn from specific philosophers, sociologists and cultural traditions that are digestible but insightful. They seem also to have a million videos about things like modern relationship and career advice that isn't my cup of tea, but some might like it.

I, too, have been grinding Antiquities. I have been watching Eureka, Royal Pains, Psych, Airwolf and The Greatest American Hero.

    Yeah, I'm that old.

Remembering when you watched The Greatest American Hero doesn't make you old.

Remembering when you watched Dark Shadows, Lost in Space, Star Trek, The Time Tunnel, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Land of the Giants, Password, The Hollywood Squares, The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour, The Carol Burnett Show, That Girl, The Monkees, The Beatles cartoon show, Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In, and many more shows that I don't have the time and space to list-- that makes you old! And watching them in syndication doesn't count; only first-run viewing counts.

Dude, you missed Land of the Lost, Perry Mason, F Troop and the Andy Griffith Show.

    I really am that old.

Also grew up in Cali, everyone is a Dude. Was already set in my ways when people started with the whole Dudette thing.

I never got into Land of the Lost, but I remember the other three. Do you remember It's About Time, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, The Invaders, The Man from Atlantis, and too many more to mention?

Sing! Pull up some classical accompaniments on YouTube and sing some opera! It's good exercise and you'll get to have fun surprising people eventually. Unless you're already an opera singer, in which case all this is just me nagging you to practice.

I don't remember It's About Time or The Invaders but I loved the other two. I even used a clip from the Alfred Hitchcock Hour in a presentation in AP English my sophomore year in high school.

Damn. I thought I could take a break after 4 days straight scrying and let the community clean up the rest of the event. But it looks like progress is stalled and we're stuck on 83%, 90%. Time to get back into digging up artifacts.

It's About Time was a silly and short-lived comedy about a couple of American astronauts who got thrown back into the past among cavemen and dinosaurs. One of the cavemen was played by the actor who played alongside Fred Gwynn in Car 54 Where Are You? His character's typical line was "Ooh! Ooh!" I had a traumatic experience related to that show (just kidding) because apparently I used to talk about it a lot with the other kids in elementary school and I must have gotten a reputation for it. One day my class's teacher had to do something and couldn't escort us all to recess or lunch or whatever, so we had to join up with another teacher's class. As our two classes are walking along in line to wherever it was, these two girls from the other class who were walking in front of me suddenly turned around and did that children's game where you alternate between clapping your own hands and clapping the other person's hands while singing some song, except they were singing a sort of parody of the theme song for It's About Time-- "It's about time, it's about space, it's about time for a slap in the face!" And with that last line they both slapped me in the face. I just stood there with my mouth hanging open in shock, and of course their teacher chose that moment to turn around to see who was talking and saw me standing there with my mouth wide open, and she made me sit quietly in her classroom during recess while she graded papers, and while everyone else was playing in the playground.

The Invaders was a science fiction show about aliens invading the Earth. The main character knew about the invasion and wanted to stop it, but nobody would believe him because the aliens were replacing people, or something like that.

I second The Expanse and The Boys, and add in Umbrella Academy too. Though those shows are too good to be watched with split attention. I stuck with audiobooks. Sorry no suggestions for those, I tend to listen to political ones and I’m not opening that can of worms :#
