I am now cp 250 and was wondering if i could do the maelstrom arena on my own on normal difficulty.

As of what cp level should you be able to do the arena ? What is advised in general?

MA only can be done "on your own", as it's a solo arena :) I'd say give it a try. No idea what's "advised" level though

You should be able to do it at that level! You're probably in a good place right now to do it. It's achievable at that CP but it may still present a little bit of challenge, which is good practice for vet one day.

First time I did vMA was around 350 CP, in a free ESO+ week :D so much death involved. But normal is much much easier, you take so much less damage, and all the hp of enemies is so much lower too.

If you're more-less experienced with a class you can do it anytime under fifty easily so with cp it's a breeze anyway. Vma is another deal.

Do special maelstrom weapons only drop on veteran level ? 😢
Or are there also dropping in normal mode ?

I thought the perfected version was in veteran and the normal versions are in normal version?

Standard on none perfect drop in normal.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Normal maelstrom arena is easy, does not even need cp to complete, some people using it for leveling new toons...

And to further clarify, the ability modifying set bonuses are exactly the same between normal and perfected. The only difference is that perfected will have an added stat (crit, penetration, etc) that the normal version lacks.

Pick Magsorc and you don't even need CP for Vet difficulty. Magsorc is since the arena exists the most broken class to beat it.

Weird. All my "non perfected maelstrom" gear dropped on vet.

    :Insert salt about zos choices:

Apologies for bringing salt to this thread, the reminding that I lost my gold sturdy shield are still vivid in my mind.

The difference between normal MA and veteran MA regarding difficulty is pretty huge, yet the difference between perfected and non-perfected weapons is pretty small.

Probably not worth it farming Veteran for weapons, maybe just for achievement.

literally? or did you also cast critsurge and/or ward occasionally? magplar can be done with just jabs (wearing iceheart is advisable though)

You can normal maelstrom at level 3. I've leveled in there before, with characters that didn't even have 5 skills on their bar when they entered, putting on whatever dropped as I went.

Normal is quite forgiving, manageable at any CP, including zero.
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

I've done it on level 45's with no CP and training gear.

You should be able to do it at CP 250 but you'll die a lot because you need to memorize every mechanic.

Think of it as a dark souls level where you're going to die a lot till you figure out the perfect strategy.

The no CP for vMA part I agree - personally I did almost flawless at CP 160 on 2nd account. Assuming one knows the mechs, vMA at no CP is doable. How many deaths varies with your personal familiarity with mechs/spawn points.

But the magsorc is "most broken class to beat it" claim is just hysterical exaggeration and/or class envy, perpetuating a myth based on state of class from literally years ago.

Back when magsorcs had huge shields and pre-morrowind sustain nerfs, sure - 100% agree was easiest class to start with. Not the best but nice burst dps, not the best but nice self heals via crit surge + matriarch. Key words being 'to start with'. VMA is equally easy on any class once you learn the mechs and the class specific ways to beat it. But to start, sure - magsorc used to be easiest. Key words - used to be.

Now? What false claim are you basing magsorc = most broken class to beat VMA?
-shields? Got massively nerfed, and ALL mag classes now have access to light armor shield morph that gives exact same 60% hp cap shield size as hardened ward.

-burst dps? Nope - can debate all day whether magblade, magwarden, or magnecro has higher burst, but most reasonable people are going to rank those 3 above magsorc.

-healing without slowing dps? Magplar hands down.

-sustain? Magsorc is worst of all classes in terms of sustain.

-pets? It is passive dps sure, but every mag class has a passive dps skill or bar slot, whether it is no push inner light or 1 click warden/necro passive dps. I would say magsorcs have better passive dps than the others but nowhere near enough to offset all the above areas where other classes excel.

Just which part of magsorc other than the old myth of super shields which hasn't been true now for years, are you basing your claim of broken status?

nMA = whenever you get 5 bar slots with skills specific to the build you want to use, ideally wait till level 16 to get barswap but for nMA not needed. Helps, but not needed.

vMA = will be huge pain whatever CP you try it at because that's just how VMA is. Makes you ragequit, then if you stick with it, learn the mechs and memorize possible spawn locs, get less and less deaths till eventually you wonder how you ever found it difficult as you basically speed run through flawless conqueror.

Personally I waited till CP 160 on 2nd account recently started so I could get max tier weapons, but no CP is far less important than knowing the mechs/spawns.

I know a player that cleared vMA a couple of years ago with no CP or food. Granted, they had cleared vMA many times before then so they were very familiar with what needed to be done.

That initial clear is the hardest and the more a player clears the content the better they will get at it.

Dude you can do normal pre CP, it's very easy. But you don't learn the mechanics and then Vet will feel intense.

But CP wise you will be ok for vMA, that's said you are max stats at CP300 so could wait for that I guess.

Mechanics kill you in vMA more than owt else.

Due to the age of orsinium and maelstrom designed for cap at the time. You'll have out levelled it at Cp300. You can do normal with your eyes closed and will spend more time in transition screens and waiting for spawns than anything else. VMA will test your mettle for a while, but after a few clears will be easy enough to farm in 30-45mins.
