Zenimax: 2 things that need to be fixed, or from my experience you will lose a lot of customers

*PS! I do not know where to post this, so I post it here.*

First, a little about myself.

I have played MMOs since 2001. My MMO history:
- DAoC - best PvP experience so far, not perfect, and sadly some imbalanced lasted for many years. Canceled a few years back due to PvP balances not being fixed.
- LOTRO - lifetime membership. Ok, but 'never ending' PvE, PvP is so so, played it mostly because friends played it. More or less not played it for a years time.
- Eve - too hardcore, very special, never got into it, huge alliances and 'solo' play do not exist. But still payed for it a few years.
- Age of Conan - PvP was too limited and unbalanced, played it 2 periods of time over a couple years.
- The Secret World - the BEST PvE in any MMO this far, too bad PvP is too limited/boring.
- Warhammer - too limited PvP, but fun, able to level in PvP. Not sure why I stopped playing, if I do not remember wrong it was due to too limited PvP.

For me a MMO need a good PvP/RvR, or its not fun/interesting for me. I have several thousands hours behind me in DAoC, and most likely a few hundred hours in DAoC PvP, mostly small man/group PvP.

Until just before Easter, ESO was fun in PvP, even though I was only up until level 35 (so far I got before Easter). No power-leveling, done all quest, found all lore and shards, no rushing. Not too many bugs at launch, but a few very bad ones went live, like the bank wipe and bank dupes. Also going live with the PvP 20 kill award, and then disabling it like was done, was a bad idea. Should never gone live with spamable quest like this, should have had 1-2 hours cool-down at least. This gave the powerlevelers/early PvPers a big advantage in end game.

Case 1)
Yesterday was my first play day after Easter, and PvP on Dawnbreaker Euro is now a unbalanced *** farm for the Empress. She is a DK vampire and the whole stacking exploit is beyond ridiculous! It is plain and simple game-breaking! One character should not under any circumstance be able to wipe whole raids on their own, no matter what level, item, buff or status, PERIOD!

Yes I know under the right circumstance even a group can kill her, but it does not matter, like it works right now it is beyond broken, and need to be fixed ASAP! If this *** mode continues, this game will lose a lot of angry players, and lose them fast!

2)
Quest bugs need to be focused and fixed, especially epic quest line ones! A game should never go live with quest bugs that stop progress of the main questline/continue the progress in the world.

Conclusion:
So far I like ESO A LOT, and I hope Zenimax takes this serious, and does something FAST to balance things out in PvP. More and more and getting to level 50, and start PvP for real, and once the damage is done, it will be hard to change the minds of the players.
Please fix this FAST, so the game does not start losing a lot of players. Game balance in a PvP focused game is fundamental!

While I and most of my guild know what a launch is like, I have noticed more and more unrest in the past week from guildmembers who feel like they are playing a beta.

At the moment they are all putting up with it, but there's only so much people will take before they say enough is enough for a game they are paying for.

I don't think there are main quest bugs anymore after the last patch that cannot be fixed with a relog/soft reset. Annoying, sure, but not progression stopping like there were. Unless some new ones popped up.

What issues there are, are related to the phasing mechanics and not the quests themselves, hence they aren't even really a problem with the quest, but the underlying architecture of the game.

I disagree, a MMO is not just about PVP, PVP is good to have, in no way does it explain why a MMO fail! PLS stop being so egoistic, I for one would rather have good dungeons and good PVE content! THANK YOU!

I can understand peoples frustration, I still have some quests that I cant finish, or well havent checked them for a while now.

though, many people at least I feel are getting to comfortable whit how, older mmo´s works, and they dont actualy rember how bad and even worse launches many of them had compared to ESO.

Aion you could bearly log in to due to problems. FFarr also extreamly hard to log in to, wow had huge problems at start, where they even took down the servers for 72 hours a few times due to major problems.

there are bugs and problems in ESO to, and some real problems whit loading screen freezing etc, but at same time, once you get in to the game, lots of things works real nice to.

inbalances in pvp, yeah there is where vampires specialy feels totaly OP for the moment, and others feel real weak, but again, there are games out there where the pvp after many years are still totaly unbalanced and mostly never will be, every game that got more than 1 class will never be balanced it just aint possible to do, cause we as people will always find stuff to complain about.

personaly I dont mind if pvp is lil unbalanced at all, I rather have it that way, cause if they start to balance it to much it will affect pve, what for many will be even more annoying. WOW is a prime example there, they try to balance pvp and at same time they break pve at times, where many fun stuff in pve gets removed or becomes totaly worthless, just becouse of people whining about pvp.

I think we need some more info on your first point, and they are working pretty hard on the second.

Edit: I had no idea what the Vampire stack exploit was all about. I agree that really has to be fixed since the potential of this game's PVP is pretty large.

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck. We know it's all a phasing problem. They've said that repeatedly, in between claims to have fixed it. what it means is under some circumstances any quest that requires spawns or whatever can break.

That it's a flaw in the basic technology makes it a real serious problem. It was identified very early in the beta stress tests and that it is still there and still causing key quests to fail for some people is very worrying. Especially to a big fan of the game like me who wants it to go from strength to strength as a sub game.

It should not have been released until the underlying problem had been fixed but we are where we are unfortunately. It's good that they are running round slapping
band-aids on the problems but we can see they aren't curing things.

Long term I'd say all these quest finale's and public dungeon bosses need to be instanced for solo buy permitting small groups.

But whatever the solution they need to find it quick.

I haven't played pvp for more than week, can someone explain what's the problem with vampires and pvp? Everyone here talks about that problem.

The vampire bats when morphed to drain hp do so even while in mist form, which it shouldn't. Additionally, there is a way to glitch the passives so the cost reduction applies to the ultimate as well, hence you can have the swarm constatly up that heals you through mistform, which is so cheap that you can have it up constantly as well, making you literally unkillable and unstoppable, as mist form also makes you immune to any and all control effects. If you're not familiar with mist form, it reduces all damage taken by 75% ontop of your base mitigation from spells resist/armour.

Even though I play as a Vamp as well, it's *** and until it's fixed, makes any serious PvP pointless as no one can match these people.

There is a pretty lengthy discussion of this topic on reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/elderscrollsonline/comments/23ftk5/bat_swarm_is_overpowered/
TLDR: Ultimate cost reduction stacks additevely, so it is possible to have 4point ultimate cost from gear+vamp passive+sorc passive (if I remember correctly).

ESO end-game is primary AvAvA, main selling point for ESO is 'PvP', so it should have main focus. And as it is right now it is plain broken, when a Empress can solo whole raids.

Sure dungeons/quests/etc need to be fixed and work of course, but ESO's main selling point is PvP, so it need to be addressed fast, or the PvP crown leaves.

I haven't tried PVP, to be honest I am not that interested in it, but I dont see what is the problem here? Why cant an empress or emporer solo a whole raid? I mean it takes a lot of skill and time to become one? IM I RIGHT?

There's only one reason why MMO's fail and that's because they can't keep sufficient customers to pay for the games upkeep.

Two ways to keep customers :
    1. Give them a decent product
    2. When things go pear shaped, communicate with your customers about how you plan to fix things.

Two things I don't see in EOS, is a decent product, there's too much bad stuff in the game right now that should have been picked up in beta, but wasn't due largely to ZOS' flawed beta strategy and secondly I don't see any of the PTB's communicating with the customers.

Come on Matt, time to come to the forums and explain why you go so much so wrong, and what you plan to do fix things.

Umm, just because I *can* do something, doesn't mean I do. It's called having ethics, you should probably look it up.

My batswarm is morphed to stealth and I haven't glitched it. In fact, I haven't fed in over a week I think.

Think of it this way : Some people cant get inside the game at all due to extreme lag/infinite loadtime/constant crashes/patching errors/launcher problems and so on.

I'm sorry but REAL problems are what needs to be addressed NOW not quest bugs and class/skill balance. Yes, they are important too but I would rather be killed by an op class rather than not being able to play at all.

And I'd bet real money that most, if not all, of those issues are a direct result of people not knowing what they are doing with their computer.

Go ask any person who fixes computers for a living, and you'll quickly change how you view most PC users. You would not believe how much malware, viruses, 10+ year old components etc people have on their PCs and then blame the product they are trying to use with a PC that's more suited to be used a paper weight than a computer.

And another fun fact, every single one of these completely ignorant people always claim that thier components are good and they have no viruses. Every. Single. One.

When I have abnormal loading times going into Cyrodiil, I just kill the game and restart, solves the problem. And if people have problems getting kicked when trying to start the game, it is highly likely a connection problem on their side, I have seen this during Easter when I connected over a mobile network.

And I am not saying the Vamp class alone is the problem, the problem is how Emperor is working, combined with a buged class like a Vamp.

The way things stack in the game right now, combined with buged classes and quests, ruines the game for alot of people, and once people are enough upset with the game, it is very hard to win them back...

I have read some of the reddit thread, and also to clear a thing up; I spamed her with Silver Leash, her health didnt move due to the Vamp regen bug.

Dawnbreaker Euro is now just plain feeding the vamp empress, anything raid like is futile. Last night became just a clownbin! This is ruining the game, and should be fixed asap!

Agreed, it should be a priority to be honest and the people knowingly doing it, banned.
