Will you buy Greymoor for the event? They've upped the ante with houseguests and a house

Except the event is a celebration for the chapter? Pretty sure any event based on a chapter/dlc in this game requires you to have access to that chapter/dlc to take part in it, and they did the same thing with Summerfall (Summerset's chapter celebration) and Dragon Rising (Elsweyr's chapter celebration). It's not a slap in the face at all, do you expect events directly tied to an expansion to be available for people who don't have access to that expansion?

Between the fact that Greymoor is 50% off right now and the fact that having previewed it I really like this house I think I probably would buy the expansion during the event if I didn't already have it.

It reminds me a lot of Forgemaster Falls, which I really liked but eventually decided wasn't quite good enough to justify the price. Now I'm glad I didn't buy it because this one is just as good for me, and could potentially end up being free. It's still not quite perfect, but the price is a lot better.

Nope. The answer is still no.

If I didn't own Greymoor, a house and a house guest would not matter to me. What would matter to be though is it being on sale.

I REALLY dont like playing 40$ for ONE zone, and a few dinky mythic items. Look at wow, for like 40$ you get like 1-2 years worth of content, lots of mythic items, tons of raids, tons of dungeons. ESO xpacs just doesnt have enough content to warrent that 40$ pricetag, im very hesitant even at 20$

    Yes. I want the house.

I caved and bought it because I want the house. *sigh* Oh well, I got it from CDKeys for less than $16 US.

I hope you actually received the product you purchased. Sites like CDKeys are notorious for scamming people. Some have great experiences. Others don't.

I got what I paid for, and am now leveling antiquities during the event. I've never had an issue with CDKeys.

As much as I wanted to buy it, I've read some reviews about it even here in the forums. "It's not advisable for casuals (w/c I am one) because the zone does not offer much."

The Indrik? Nah, I'm not really into mounts they're just cosmetics besides, noisy hooves. I'll settle to my Guar.

I've been thinking too if I bought greymoor now. That trial will be another eye candy to me. Since I'm not in a guild, I will not experience it :( as much as I wanted to learn trials.

I'm not sure what people are talking about not being for casuals. The story is a fun one, antiquities can only be done solo and give you reason to travel all across tamriel (provided you're interested in mythic items, furnishings, reworked racial motifs, and a cool mount)

You can't solo Harrowstorms, and the world bosses are tough but I've never had to wait more than a few minutes for other people to show up.

The only thing I would say is that if you weren't a fan of this part of Skyrim in the last ES game you might not get as much out of it, but the zone itself is pretty massive and has lots to do and explore. There are also some nice collectibles. Ultimately, while the house is beautiful and I'm excited to get my hands on the npc to put in my houses I would suggest buying the Chapter unless you were interested in all the other stuff above. This is just a nice bonus to those who have bought or will buy when sales come up. Using the movie theatre price metric, I easily got my value from my purchase but as always with things like this mileage will vary.

The reason I went ahead and bought the chapter is because the Gallery is in the Morthal area, which is the only hold in this part of Skyrim that I like - the rest of it is just not interesting to me, and wasn't in TES V. I loved Morthal in TES V - I wrote about three books of fan-fiction about Hjaalmarch and its people.
