It’s time to raise the CP cap.

for the ppl complaining 810 is a grind, at least its been static for 2yrs imagine chasing a goal post that moved every DLC/Chapter and almost hit cap for that quarter only to have it raised by another 30 points. now that was a grind trying to get ahead of the curve

You guys must understand that if they add new cp points then they have to redesign again the cp stats

ZOS should not raise the CP cap, that would create a build/gameplay imbalance. Which would take years to fix. I would more like to see something along the lines of:

Personally I hope they keep the current 810 CP system, and add another CP reward system(with non-gameplay rewards) on top of it for all points over 810. Ofcourse with non-gameplay bonusses, which even with 1000's of points do not matter much. Like: +0.01% extra gold reward for quests, +0.01% extra chance for chests to drop an overland set item, +0.01% quest experience reward, etc.

The 810 CP system has become quite unique to ESO, and I feel they should keep it. Just expand it, like I suggest above.

The vast majority of impact to balance was done with the first 810 CP. Adding another 90 points or so wouldn’t have done nearly as much in terms of builds and gameplay thanks to diminishing returns, especially as it would have been almost entirely overshadowed by the drastic vacillations in the interim, e.g. the whiplash changes to DoT/AoE power (and now the continuing back-and-forth with crit). A modest amount of additional CP would not have caused yearslong issues with attempts at balance, which frankly has yet to be achieved. It would, however, have given people a necessary sense of continuing vertical progression (however small in actual impact) until the rework actually dropped. Instead, they stoppered any sense of vertical progression completely before even entering the design phase of the rework. We’ll have been in limbo two years now with nothing to show for it and no concrete idea when we might. It got old quickly.

810 is unique to ESO, true, but it’s also completely arbitrary, just like 160 for gear cap. I’ve seen plenty of new players over the years understandably quite confused by this system of various “max levels” that starts with level 50, continues to gear cap at 160 and resource cap at 300, and now is stuck at 810. One needs to understand the timeline of ESO development in a nutshell to understand how those CP numbers came be fixed where they are, as well as why gear cap is in the middle of the post-level progression system. As interesting as we might find that history, and as attached to these numbers as some of us might be, I would like to see the devs take this opportunity to make the major milestones of the leveling system more sensible and less symptomatic of repeatedly and haphazardly switching horses midstream.

Pretty much this. We really have not missed out on much, to begin with, and Zos will hopefully change CP in a manner that will not have a continuous climbing ceiling.

They just had a post about wanting to reign in vet players who have learned to maximise the games combat, while making lower bracket players stronger. That old raise the floor and lower the ceiling thing. Adding more CP would be counter productive to their design ideas. In the end asking for them to exacerbate power creep just seems like a poor idea, in my opinion.

MMOs being treated on a social-equalism "Everyone Is Awesome!" mindset is doomed to fail.

Reward the long-timers or there won't be any eventually.

Or how about making a non-Craglorn (which is boring af) area for CP1000+ players and give newcomers something to look forward to.

I appreciate the new mounts, the new styles, etc. Don't get me wrong. But those of us who have invested so much time...need something to show for it and something to use it with.

A new area, with dolmens the size of towns...tons of new creatures to fight with group or solo--maybe even new npc mechanics devs can experiment on us.

    New Molag side quest, etc.

Wasn't what I was getting at, and the constant removal of skilled gameplay is super frustrating. I also understand that on the same token, it is completely reasonable for ZOS to reign in disparities to a healthy degree. Sadly, their history on this is wanting at best. I was simply pointing out that asking for a cap bump right now wasn't the time.

More cp, more progression, pls. Never understood those who want to play an rpgmmo without progression.

The power creep argument just gives the devs an excuse for being lazy and not upgrade mobs and bosses when players evolve.

If you don't like progression, why not have just one level for the entire game?

I want the cp cap to be over a trillion ... please.

Why not keep the cp cap, but allow us to use the extra cp for not combat improving things. Like increased guild sale slots, gold reward bonus, just to name a couple.

I'm sure the devs can figure out some cool boosts.

Just raise it to 900 so we can have 300 in all 3 trees.

It’s been almost a year with no raise in cap or even a mention of what your plan is. Raise it to 900 while you figure it out. Progress keeps players returning. Since you guys love money, let me buy cp increments then.

raising cp would only cause more balancing issues. im assuming you primarily pve? just cause it doesnt seem like youve considered the effects cp has on pvp and how poorly balanced cp is in its current state.

I wouldn't mind more cp. If they are replacing the system, i hope they still keep the same scaling between players, or add even more. Like the longer you've played the game, the more powerful you are. Sweeeet :D yeah i know they will make new players more powerful, cause they have not bought all the things yet. I work in finance, i know ;);)

I have not met one former player who said that they would return when the CP cap is lifted. Not one.
