I don't get that kind of argument.VaranisArano wrote: »Sure. As long as you get none of the rewards already in those zones. Let the experience be its own reward.
See, the rewards like AP, leads, motifs, resources, fish, achievements, event tickets, skyshards, Tel var, etc? All those were designed to be gained with the risk of PVP. ZOS intentionally put those in PVP-enabled zones.
You eliminate the risk? The rewards should be eliminated as well.
Do we have a deal?
Or is this a plea for rewards with no risk?
I mean, I understand the reasoning behind it, but it just doesn't hold up to actual practice, at least as far as it applies to Cyrodiil (less so to IC).
In Cyrodiil, it's quite rare to encounter any enemy players at the "pure PvE" objectives like delves, skyshards or dolmens.
Even in primetime there's a decent chance that you won't encounter anyone at such locations. If you go there in a low population campaign, the factor of "risk of PvP" was already vanishingly low to begin with.
Off the top of my head, the only PvE activity in Cyrodiil that carries any significant "risk of PvP" is... fishing - because you are literally standing out in the open, and some types of fishing nodes are located very close to major travel routes and PvP objectives. (is "stealth fishing" still a thing?)
And depending on how you define "engaging in PvP", it is entirely possible to complete all of the PvE content in both PvP zones without ever actually engaging in any PvP - if you define it as "fighting (back) against the enemy players".
After all, the only real consequence of dying to enemy players is the inconvenience of dealing with the horse simulator.
Not saying that this is the optimal way of doing things - far from it - just that it's a distinct possibility.
You mean "... without suffering PvP."Taleof2Cities wrote: »Your reply is exactly the kind of PvE player @VaranisArano is referring to ... someone that wants the zone rewards without risking PvP.

A PvE player who is forced into a PvP zone is not a PvPer just because he is in that zone. PvPers seem to think easy kills are legit kills, they are not. That is not PvP, that is just preying on other players who you know are going to die.
Real PvP is against someone who wants to PvP, but apparently this is not what most PvPers are actually looking for.

Divided in 3 zones, they could be called nothern, southern and estern heartland or something
Accessed via wayshrine and sewer as they were before (pvp cyrodiil would still be accessed via campain menu)
Current chokepoint would be replaced by loadscreen to nezt zone
These zone would get there own reward like every other zones in the game
They would get there own skyshard, fish, etc(so pvp player wont whine as there isnt any pve player to kill)
The zone could also be resized to match other zone and reduce the horse simulator
For telvar maybe they could stay but put the death loss highter maybe like 90% to simulate the danger of player
As for ap attach them to main story and make it so you get just enough to get rapid but nothing more so it would also clear the rapid problem some player have since stonethorn
I think this would make most party happy
Pve player get there version of cyrodiil and imperial city and access to rapid
Pvp player keep everything they have exclusive to pvp such as skyshard, part of the master fisher achievement and more, with the exeption the first 5 rank of alliance skill line
Zos would make money as it would be a dlc( it could even be 3)

So basically you want free rapids again. Nah, go earn it this time. It was dumb you could get it by skipping the tutorial in the first place. If you want PvP skills do PvP. I can't earn undaunted in cyrodiil, I have to run dungeons. So you should go do PvP if you want rapids again.

And here we go again...
Just go in there at a less populated campaign when there is no campaign, or start with duelling players in PvE zones. You will either avoid other players or you will start to learn to PvP.

Would be nice to get these, sometimes I just wanna do the content without having to worry about other players and their invincible one-shot builds. Keep the capture/keep stuff for the PvP version but let us do the quests and whatnot solo.
I like the part when everyone assumes that all PvErs want the pvp rewards, that's hilarious.
I just want to do quests
