Lately ive been having fun with pvp mainly due to the IC event. so ive been playing around with a lot potions. I was wondering what the community is using. i know many people use different type of mixes. just pick the mix that you use the most please. Plz comment exactly what you use and in what situation you use it for. It would really help me alot for a pvp beginner like me.

NOT poisons so dont ask me why Snare isnt mentioned. i doubt anyone would make a hindrance or entrapment potions for pvp.

im going to categorize type of potion by Utility, Defense, and Offense

Utility - Invisibility, speed, unstoppable, detection

Defense- vitality, resistance, protection, restore resource

Offense- spell/weapon power, spell/weapon critical, heroism

Immovable/Stam/Speed pots are my bread and butter, but I get a rare-yet-clutch use out of Invisible/Sped pots as well. I should probably also slot detect pots of some type, but then I'd have less room for pies and mudballs on my quickslot, and that just won't do.

    By default immovabity.
With all those cc, immovability is important especially when playing as mag char with limited stamina.

It really depends on the character I'm using. But almost always use the AP pots because I use so many and the ingredients for crafting potions are way to rare/expensive to run usually.

I'd also say Unstoppable should be classified as a defensive buff rather than utility as even on a bombing run the point of popping it is so you don't get CC'ed and killed before you bomb. And Heroism should be utility instead of offense since it helps healers and negate tanks just as much.

I always keep the following quick slotted:

-Major Sorcery (the Cyrodiil ones now that they're improved), used most often since I have no other source of it.
-Tri-pots, for whenever I'm under heavy pressure.
-Detection w/ major sorcery and magicka.
-Immovable with stamina and health. I don't usually need them for snare removal since I use RAT, but still extremely useful for getting a rez off, burning a camp, picking up a scroll, etc.
-Major Vitality/Health/Lingering Health, basically the emergency "oh s***" potion when things are getting really real, really fast, and I wasn't ready for it. I might not need these if I actually knew how to PvE and/or had someone who could carry me through BRP for that resto staff. But I don't, so this is my makeshift solution.

I also carry suicide potions now for when I find a way to fall into those weird spots between rocks that you can't escape from, but also can't unstuck from because you're stuck in combat.

I use Defensive potions the most but in certain scenarios I'll carry invisibility potions if I'm not looking for a fight. Offensive potions are worthless on my build since I have skills that apply the exact same buffs. Better to just equip a tri-pot so my stamina, magicka, and health are all in acceptable levels.

I always have at least 4 potions in quick slot:
    Offense: magic, immovability, spell crit
    Resource: tri-pot
    Gank Nuker: detect pot
    Escape: invisibility and major expedition.

I would say that is also the order I use them in the most. I don’t use invisibility ones all that often and in a group I will drop for something like a camp or another siege. Never go anywhere without detect pots for those pesky nightblades.

I also always have door repair, wall repair, ballista, oils/cold fire.
