Tried it in stadia and it was awful

Don’t get me wrong, it was nice not to have to wait for the usual install business. But aside from that just - no. No addons and my controller wasn’t working and there was no setting to enable controller support. 4K was awful slow too. 1080p was alright. But after a few minutes I requested a refund. Don’t know if I’ll get it but I canceled stadia. If you like console sure it’s the thing for you but if not than skip it.

How does liking console have anything to do with no controller support, no graphic support for 4k, and a bad overall experience?

    No add-ons?

That right there tells me everything I need to know about the kind of experience it would be.

@linuxlady , thanks for your review.

Sounds like all the downsides of console without the benefits of pc such as addons. Thanks for testing.

What do you expect, you're running the game on a High End PC, all your doing is streaming it to your PC essentially, they are not gonna let you install Addons

Think ESO on stadia is more so you can play outside home unless you have an gaming laptop.
And 4K is kind of pointless unless you have an bis gaming rig and an large monitor and even then don't bother complain about performance.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

For the last month I split my playtime between PC and stadia, and I find them complimentary.

On PC I'll sometimes play via stadia webpage if I want to log in to check something quickly, feed a horse or collect crafting quests so tomorrow I can do them on PC... Stadia loads much quicker than the proper launcher.

Often I'll play on my mobile with a bluetooth gamepad, i did maelstrom arena in my garden earlier. Playing ESO on a mobile totally changes the experience, and it's engaged me in overland PVE again. The option to play anywhere, maybe for just a few minutes is really, really, nice

Longer sessions are best on PC. Mods are great, but there are lots of parts of the game don't need them, and stadia makes those parts accessible in a pretty cool way.

#1 tip (Re)check your graphics settings periodically - especially resolution.

I love Stadia. Being able to play on my phone, t.v. and laptop gives me a lot of freedom. I craft on my laptop, level alts at dolmens on my phone before bed, and quest on a 55" 4k t.v. it's awesome.

I swear the old penny farthing has been postively purring since you wrote those encouraging words instead of grunting, grinding, squeaking and howling away under my desk. Thanks !

I don't know what liking Consoles has anything to do with Stadia.

Feels like a console exp to me. Seems obvious enough. Perhaps if you don’t know it’s because you haven’t tried it

Hmm, for me the performance is far better than console (super short load screens, no crashing in Cyro) so I’ve found myself playing on my new Stadia account more than my old console account. My controller (XBox) linked just fine. As far as add-ons, I may be at a disadvantage for not using them, but coming from console, it’s not like I was using them then had them taken away, so eh. It’s just generally a far less frustrating time playing compared to console. Maybe that says more about console performance than it does Stadia’s.😬
I move too often to get a legit gaming computer (last one I had didn’t even last a single move) so Stadia is my only option for playing on PC.

Any laptop with a decent graphics card will run ESO, the only reason to have Stadia is if you're literally on the move too often, ie you're commuting far too often to be able to plug your laptop in and game.

Uh yeah the laptop I got was originally for designing cross stitch patterns, so I was not looking at graphics card specs when I bought it. I have my doubts 😆

And since I just got a rather awesome, but pricey treadmill, I won’t be in the market for a new laptop any time soon. But that’s okay, because as you can see, I wasn’t complaining at all about Stadia.

Just as you said, this was a few minutes testing with what sounds like predetermined mind and really should be taken as such. The only thing solid is yes, no add on, but the rest is not common or true about stadia. It’s console experience without buying the console, and I can carry it to my mothers place every weekend so my son can play. I can play it in a hotel too.
I have played for 3 months and never had a single server issue, and when I looked at pc players on twitch I realised why people were complaining about loading screens.

I think for sure that this game is so tedious that if it weren’t for addons I’d quit completely

I've had no problems whatsoever playing on Stadia with my old Xbox 360 controller. I thought I would lament not having add-ons, but I actually haven't. It's been great not worrying about installs. I just open my browser and play.

Never played with add ons and I am glad I didn’t. I guess this is just like using d**gs, the world is a wonderful places for most who don’t use it but clearly for those who do there is no way to enjoy the world without it.
