Daily Login Rewards ... No Longer Rewards

But no. We're expected to be excited about bland rewards, and forced to gamble to get the latest content.

Hmmm... Did I get correctly that a pet, costume or a mount texture is what you refer as "new content" you are FORCED to gamble for?

You are chained to wall and threatened with a gun or something like that?

This would make more people log in than any of the stuff they offer now. It would be like the old S&H Green Stamps, or the modern rewards points that people can collect and cash in on stuff that they really want.

I'm surprised their marketing gurus haven't told them how well that would work. Getting crowns for being an ESO+ subscriber is good motivation, why not offer daily stuff you can convert to gems or crown store credit as a similar motivation to play?

The low quality login rewards somehow managed to match how low quality the actual game has become

I was pretty happy getting the beard and gold last month.

I thought the beard was pretty cool...but it doesn't work on any of my current characters.

Please ZOS sell me more character slots!!!

18 is just barely getting started!!
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

They are geared towards new players? Even my friend who has only played for a month commented how bad the rewards were this month.

Making some of the rewards convertable to gems seems like a good way to improve the system. Or even just give away 20 gems as one of the rewards later in the month.

Yes and make the scrolls for exp and crafting sellable to other players. New players need them, i just destroy, which is a shame. Even the money rewards, like 100k, i don't really even notice it. I have 8m on just one char inventory and more in bank and on all the max number of alts. The old times crown crate rewards would be nice, though i only ever get the potions, meals or poisons from them :D

I agree, the only good thing in the crates are the tri-stat potions because you can't buy them for AP and bugloss is expensive.

How about give something to the old players too? Not scrolls...

Tho i have to say its ironic. We are playing an elder scrolls game and guess what we get???

    SCROLLS 🤕

I uses the crown 3 stat ones on tank for most easier dungeons.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Is there a secret handshake and code word used to get this content any other way...? Therefore, since you are so concerned with semantics, I can rephrase in a way you can't misinterpret: you have NO OPTION other than to gamble, to obtain the new content, if you so desire (just because you might not want to, doesn't mean the majority of us that do, don't). That is THE ethical issue. Good for you for not wanting cosmetics, but cosmetics and the like are a major part of this game, and any MMO. It doesn't matter what type of content is being offered, since the way its being offered is corrupt. Plain and simple.
So... the very least they could do, since we now have GEM EXCLUSIVE ITEMS NOT OBTAINABLE FROM ANY CRATES, is to regularly distribute crates every month, for free, as rewards for in-game activities and/or as daily login-in rewards.

But no. We're expected to be excited about bland rewards, and forced to gamble to get the latest content.

We're talking about cosmetics with the crates, @Scion_of_Yggdrasil ... not Pay-to-Win items that improve your combat prowess and put you ahead of other players.

In other words, your view of the "latest content" is purely optional since it's cosmetics.

As mentioned above, if ZOS were to start distributing free crates in earnest, no one would buy them because players have accumulated the gems they need to buy what they want.

As I mentioned above, cosmetics are a huge part of any MMO. You really think people would stop buying crates if some were offered for free??? They would still get plenty of sales, and any free gems obtained would be at such a slow rate... the easiest way to get any gem exclusives would still be to gamble.

Just because we have a choice to not push a kid over, doesn't make pushing a kid over any less crappy. Just because we have a choice to not buy gamble crates, does not equate to gamble crates being any less scummy. The product is not the issue at hand here.... the means of selling the product is the issue.

with the CP never being rised again the xp stuff is pretty meh, don't even really need it on new chars once you hit the current max cp because you get scrolls anyhow while leveling.

Also one of my crafters has a food recipe that equals the special food you sometimes get has a reward so that is even mehish.

But it is what it is free junk.

Most of crates content can be bought with crown gems.
The one that cannot be bought is an apex mount retexture.
Is that the "new content" that you cannot survive without? The one you run to spend money on every time you see it?

I always see "new content" as new locations, quests, activities, mechanics, classes etc.
But, maybe new color for the mount is a "new content" too. An a very-very-very important one...

I suppose the only issue I have is with the lack of diversity of items. In a sense, also the quantities given (although I realize cutting back would probably be a bad move.)

What I mean is that I have like 1000 poison on one Toon and will end up with another 1000 on another Toon before the end of the month. I just started a few months ago! I have nearly the same amount in potions, although those do get used a bit more (especially after the sorc nerf.)

I can always destroy them if I don't use them, so it is not a big deal. This month seems blander than the past few months. I am not saying we need to have crown crates, but IIRC, this months are pretty bland with a lot of repetition.
