Daily Login Rewards ... No Longer Rewards

I remember the daily logins when they were introduced back in 2018. During that first month, they gave away 4 scale caller crates. Then in the following months leading up to the end of the year they rewarded the loyal players that logged in with another 39 crown crates, and even the Murkmire DLC. So far this year we have had a SINGLE crown crate back in April. Just one. Now we reach September and what is the reward for logging in all month? A single 150% xp scroll in the first week. That is it as far as "starred" boxes of value go. Nothing more. I understand that the first couple months was a bit of an overshoot with the crown crates... but dialing back the daily rewards to a single reward is just disappointing. Plus most people don't even care for the 150% scrolls as it is acquirable in game, and with the whole "no more character slots" this item is practically useless to the veteran players. If the eventual goal is to get rid of the daily rewards, then I would be happier with it gone, rather than watching it diminish month after month, like the content in the chapters year after year. If the goal is to track activity, and see more people playing daily... then perhaps a "Daily Login Reward" should actually... reward a person with something of value.

Be careful, @Blacknight841 ... there will soon be incoming posts that your opinion borders on entitlement.

The main audience for login rewards are new players anyway.

But, more importantly, they are free (even for veteran players like you and me). ;)

Crates are fun and all, but realistically, you won't often get anything better than an xp scroll or a cosmetic item. My opinion is that they are essentially giving you a specific item similar to the one you might have gotten from a crate instead of the crate itself. You miss out on the spectacle of opening the crate and the disappointment when it's not what you wanted and you don't get the gems. You instead get a specific item which is exactly the same for every person.

I was pretty happy getting the beard and gold last month. This month's rewards are less exciting, but I'll still appreciate getting the XP scrolls and repair kits.

    Better than getting nothing.

I feel the XP scrolls are a waste, yes they are nice for people that want them but me having like 100 hours worth in the bank and no need to use them they could be better used

They hooked us with the good rewards. Now they can settle back into a regular routine of basic rewards with just enough good ones to trigger our desire.

Wasn't that a rigged preview crate where everyone was guaranteed a pet? It was a promotion, not a "real" crate.

If rewards were too good they'd lose money from the Crown Store.
As it is, you get collectibles if you log in for a minimum number of days, and that's probably the main goal -- not 100% attendance, but some attendance at least.
It's not really to give you good stuff every day, and collectibles are not subject to inflation just to make them useful to established players.

And all the filler items are in fact HARMFUL to new players since they accelerate and make too easy the gameplay experience, making an under-educated player base.

Personally I only logged in enough to get to the beard, not even close to the 100k gold which I didn't really need anyways.

Some of the monthly reward costumes have been pretty good. There are at least three that I had a character wear for a substantial period of time.

That I think right there was the problem people were just turning in the stuff from the free crates for gems then just using those gems to buy the apex mounts and Zos did not like that.
Personally it is all just junk now I delete most of it, my bags are full of pay to win scrolls from years before that I may never use. All it does is destroy the already pathetic economy in this game as no one has to buy food or potions much anymore as they get free ones.

Daily Rewards actually provides me with constant supplies of Tri-Stat Potions, which I spotted crafting a long time ago as a result. And also poisons for my stam toons. Some of the cosmetic stuff I like a lot, some not so much, it's just a taste preference, but it's still nice to have anyway. XP scrolls (even if it's not really usefull for me), some gold, AP and whatever is still nice to have.

And all that stuff throwing at new players. It's actually quite helpfull.

Daily rewards only exist so ZOS can fill your screen with crown store ads.

They made the initial rewards good enough that people would accept the system. Job done, now since they no longer need to give out anything of (debatable) value... they don’t.

Quit whining already, you get stuff for free.

Since when are included benefits of something you PAID FOR "Free?"

Do F2Pers get these daily rewards and if so, did they not still have to pay for the game initially?

You paid for the base game, or a chapter, dlc or whatever, not for a daily login rewards, which is just a free addition to a purchased game.
Why don't you complaining about not getting stuff from some new dlc or chapter? You PAID for it!!1

Daily login rewards are supposed to encourage players to keep coming back to the game and not go dormant. On the basis, logically, the rewards need to be sufficient to tempt people to keep coming back.

In my view, ZoS could learn something from other industries when it comes to player retention and keeping players rewarded for activity.

I would personally suggest that ZoS do away with the rewards in their current format. I would replace it with a currency (another one!) something like the event tickets. You get a ticket for every day you log in, and you get to spend your tickets on a predefined catalogue of items. Really cool items (e.g. a mount or costume or motif pages) are expensive, utility items (e.g. XP scrolls, crafting research scrolls, pets) are mid-range, and potions and other items can be 1-2 tickets only.

That said, it wouldn't hurt for ZoS to include other items in the daily rewards (or daily reward catalogue) - instead of low level Crown Crate Crap they could include furnishing recipes, furniture, weapons, armour, styles, mats....... there's a very long list the would make daily logins much more interesting.

Yea, I agree that the rewards today are complete ***. Another ton of useless trash potions. I think it just zos plan to convince people to buy crown crates.

Do you think those tri-pots are useless?

    Ok.

you can make crafted potions with better effects. and after you get more than hundreds of them, get more of them is just not needed

Tri-Pots are perfectly adequate for a lot of content. Especially if you tank, as well as being quite handy in PvP. I use them all the time and have zero problems. And no, I don't play an Argonian.

Again, you can just make crafted tri-pots with better effects. Zos don't need to give us hundreds of them.

    This...

And if anyone think that this thing they called Daily login is Daily login, you are victim of ZoS, Illusion Lv 100. It's not a daily login, wake up, it's your daily junk!

"'buh free muh free stop complaining! "

I'd pay not to get clutter and junk in my mail every day - oh right that's why there is an addon to destroy login "rewards" automatically.
This is the equivalent of getting advertisement grocery papers and flyers every time you enter a store, or the thousandth mug from a relative you don't even like. "But it's free paper and ceramic, why are you so entitled?? They could also give you nothing haha!" Yes please, do that.
