Yea, I agree that the rewards today are complete ***. Another ton of useless trash potions. I think it just zos plan to convince people to buy crown crates.

You think those tri-pots are useless?

    Ok.

you can make crafted potions with better effects. and after you get more than hundreds of them, get more of them is just not needed

Tri-Pots are perfectly adequate for a lot of content. Especially if you tank, as well as being quite handy in PvP. I use them all the time and have zero problems. And no, I don't play an Argonian.

Crates are fun and all, but realistically, you won't often get anything better than an xp scroll or a cosmetic item. My opinion is that they are essentially giving you a specific item similar to the one you might have gotten from a crate instead of the crate itself. You miss out on the spectacle of opening the crate and the disappointment when it's not what you wanted and you don't get the gems. You instead get a specific item which is exactly the same for every person.

I turned crate stuff in for gems, eventually getting an apex mount I really like.

which is exactly why they don't give crates any more. People were able to stockpile too many gems and not buy crates with real money

I remember. I've been playing the game since beta.

Daily login was supposed to be designed to keep people coming back. But now it's to keep giving people useless junk

also been here since beta and I remember when there were no log in rewards at all

Also if I'm that tired of the game that I don't feel like playing it anymore, I doubt any in game pixel prize would make me actually want to log in. None of it means anything and its all useless crap in the end.

The tripots and crown store food scale to your level and are useful for low level alt leveling who haven't leveled provisioning and alchemy yet and aren't rolling in gold. Not to mention experience scrolls for leveling.
They should have included a little more ap this month to help appease you rapids deficient guys. lol

Honestly, the daily rewards are fine. I use the free chicken dinners and tri-pots and store away the rest.

P.S. Crown Crates are not a "reward". They are a "problem".

And all that stuff throwing at new players. It's actually quite helpfull.

Exactly the point of this post. How about rewards for the entire spectrum of the playerbase?

Free is free in the end so idk tbh. Daily rewards have never been an incentive for me to login, I do so because I want to play the game...if not, I find something else to play or go do. I've chosen to waste time here on a pointless topic that will get nowhere so to make it worthwhile...

Hope everyone has a great day :)

They hooked us with the good rewards. Now they can settle back into a regular routine of basic rewards with just enough good ones to trigger our desire.

It's their model: they either pull you in with something nice, and then slowly scale it back, or introduce something in the store, and then slowly progress it to more consumer-unfriendly levels (as in the case of crates->radiant apex->gem exlusive). Even their chapter scheme was like this: when people complained about chapters being separate from DLCs, they made a very big point in emphasizing the difference between the two, after that, they announced the chapters becoming DLCs in time. Their marketing has a very insidious strategy

    Actually...
Those crown-pots are equal to the Tri-stat pots that you can craft.
There are no "better" alternatives, only "different" pots.
Depending on your build (such as mine), you may only need tri-stat pots, and all other pots are unnecessary.

So for me, I have 500+ Tri-stat pots all due to logging in, and it has effectively eliminated my need to craft them, resulting in alchemy for potions being effectively worthless for me.

They should just remove them, then all you entitled can stop complaining about free stuff.

And start complaining "remember when we used to get log in rewards?"

These Login Rewards and the discusions that happen afterward have to be some sort of test. They want to see how we react to receiving free items of varying degrees (i.e. usefulness), so yeah I think we're all apart of some sociological test.

I’ve been playing five years and still find useful items in the rewards.... even the experience scrolls help level a new character or new skill line... free money is always handy, even though I’m a millionaire (in game only... sadly)... potions, food, tel var.... all handy for me... and yep... still feel like free rewards... which...they are....

the whole point with dailies is to help the new player and it help you lvl alt also for honest reward is really good when you lvl up alt or for the new player which helps them level up faster .

Sure it was nice to get crate but honest I don't care so much for crate for if want "play" crate game then I can buy for my own money.

Sure, I get that - but as a very old player it would be nice to get crates as some sort of compensation (so to speak) for far too frequently and overly long maintenance, enduring years worth of exploratory attempts to fix lag (that only make it worse), and half-baked combat changes that usually don't work out.

If you dont like them for the month, just ignore them. I cannot see why this is such an issue.

Too bad we can't trade the bound XP scrolls for gems. Pretty worthless to someone with max characters and over 1k CP.

Curious that they don't try to keep veteran players around. I get that the rewards are geared towards new players, but considering all the changes they make to discourage loyal customers (like yanking Rapids from all your alts), it seems they are only after the new money and don't care about those who have been supporting them for years.

Well, I don't know what to think about the daily reward other than its stuff. Stuff I usually push off to an unused alt who has their whole inventory full of potions and poisons. The exp scrolls I pop onto low level alts where some are carry over 50 of the normal ones and handfuls of the better ones. And if you miss a day logging in, you lose nothing really anymore. But then its all free and so I don't feel right to complain about them. But I also don't feel compelled to log in each day by them. I used to because the end of the month had something I was interested in. Got an apex mount from one once. Though lately crown stuff from crates just gets converted to gems as they reward you even worst than the daily rewards.

They are still rewards. Just not anything to get excited about.

The bigger issue is Zos set the bar of expectations high in the early months of the daily login rewards then gutted the system to where it is a sad shell of what it once was. That seems very close to very poor business and PR move.

OP has a point, and I hate how "entitled" is used as a weapon against anyone who points out the truth.

My answer will always be to ban crates. However, I understand that the day they are banned is probably far in the future, and I don't expect ZOS to have any moral back bone to make an ethical decision to dial back on crates...

So... the very least they could do, since we now have GEM EXCLUSIVE ITEMS NOT OBTAINABLE FROM ANY CRATES, is to regularly distribute crates every month, for free, as rewards for in-game activities and/or as daily login-in rewards.

Most games that use the scummy practice of crates always offer a free way to obtain the currency required to purchase them, or a free way to get the crates themselves.... regularly...

But no. We're expected to be excited about bland rewards, and forced to gamble to get the latest content.

I find the health potions and meals useful, but on the other hand they rather trivialise provisioning. I find the cash useful as I'm a non-trader so don't have a bank overflowing with gold. I also find the APs useful as I'm not a PvPer but they give me the odd skill point that I can use for PvE etc.

If there was an option to disable the rewards I'd probably do so simply to avoid the nuisance of claiming them each day on 4 sets of characters (2 accounts, 2 servers). I know I don't have to access them each day, but it is necessary if I want the occasional item later in the month, although I wouldn't miss such items and have no interest in the other stuff like xp scrolls which I never use anyway. On balance I'd just drop the whole thing if there was an option to do so.

We're talking about cosmetics with the crates, @Scion_of_Yggdrasil ... not Pay-to-Win items that improve your combat prowess and put you ahead of other players.

In other words, your view of the "latest content" is purely optional since it's cosmetics.

As mentioned above, if ZOS were to start distributing free crates in earnest, no one would buy them because players have accumulated the gems they need to buy what they want.

    No it isn't. Sorry!

Daily Login Rewards are supposed to exactly what it say on the tin: reward you for losing in daily. The aim is exclusively to keep accounts active, which is of course the reason that the "good" stuff is 15 days into the month - the aim is to encourage you to log your account for at least that number of days if you want to collect the higher value rewards.

This is all about active accounts as a (completely fair) measure of success for ZoS. It has nothing to do with alt character levelling.
