27 or 32 inch screen for PVP - does it make a difference?

Is there a visible difference in performance when it comes to PVP , using 27 inch screen vs 32 inch? Ive heard that 27 inch is supposed to be the sweet spot for screen size, as it takes less time to look from one point on the screen to the other etc. Is there some truth to this?

Screen size is likely near the bottom of your priorities, @Mariusghost84.

Having a good rig with a performance graphics card goes a long ways ... in addition to your internet provider and dialing things in through the ESO in-game video settings.

As a last resort, you can always return the monitor/TV for a refund if you don't like it (within the seller's guidelines) ... and try the other size.

I assume you are playing on a PC? For screen size I would definitely not go too big. At my work I use two 23 inch screens and there fits a lot of information on that.

I think that there is truth in that you will not see everything on a 32 inch screen. Compare it to the moments when you see people with a home cinema television that covers half the wall. Nobody wants to watch television there because it hurts the eyes, except the owners.

In my experience, you need at least a 50" screen in order to break free properly in Cyrodiil

120Hz (or 144Hz) refresh instead of 60 (and a PC THAT can drive it playing ESO) rather than moving the chair 1" back to be able so see everything

The combination of a good rig with a decent graphics card + a 32 inch curved screen at 2560x1440 res is the sweet spot for MMOS. (27 inch screen comes a very close 2nd).

Make sure to check if you have a valid internet connection before buying a new screen, never know!

It's only ~5 inch but hey, ... 5'' can be yay or nay [snip]

As i've heard too big can also be a problem, but as conspiracy theories are not allowed on this forum, let's be silent on that topic.

I would imagine 32" at 1440p would be a little light on pixel density. When I first went to 27" I did it at 1080p, and wasn't happy with the results. Moved to 27" at 1440p and love it. At 32" I'd imagine 4k would be the place to be. Sadly at that point you run into issues keeping your fps up.

mhhh to give a correct answer .... the so called " sweet spot" is a mix between your distance to the screen, size and resolution.
So without knowing all 3 values, there can not be a 100% correct answer.
    Just google it up :).
(FHD for example was: display size (inch) * ~2,5-3 for movies (TV) and *1-1,5 for PC --> don't forget, that it's still a personal preference so... you need to test that out for yourself)

The screen size should depend on how far you're sitting from the screen.

It depends on the quality of the monitor + graphics card.

A top quality 32inch 1440p IPS curved gaming monitor with g-sync (or Freesync) + high end graphics card is the sweetspot for MMOs right now.

There is no noticeable difference at all from a similar 27inch scenario. 4K isnt the way to just yet however as the refresh rate is much lower although the detail is even greater.

Anything other than top of the range or near top of the range hardware then 27inch is def the way to go :)

I have a wide aspect monitor that I play this game with and you actually do get to see more of what is going on, it is useful in PvP but the problem is most people don't have one so if you decide to not push into a sandwhich between two teams because you can see them and your team can't it will be a lonely time. Sometimes when I am yelling "are you BLIND" at my monitor when team is basically primordial ooze level of awareness, I need to remember they might not actually be able to see what I can see clear as day because of monitor.

The new rig Will be Gtx 3090 with top end CPU and the new Samsung g7 monitor. So i guess 32 screen would be perfect then? 👍 @BigBragg

TLDR; If you sit close, go with 27".

I use a 32" 1440p monitor and I can tell you while its SUPER NICE to have so much detail and everything in your face...I would recommend a 27" however if you have probs with neck strain from turning your head left/right so much to see things on your screen. If you sit farther away from your monitor, 32" is great.

Screen size does not affect performance. Screen resolution does, but whether you are on a 17inch or 70inch monitor, your frame rates wont change. Now of course, you may notice imperfections on a a bigger monitor, but in terms of actual performance, its no different. If you go beyond 1920x1080, you will feel your FPS fall. How far, depends on the capabilities of your PC. ESO is artificially capped at 100 FPS (unless that has changed recently).

I run an 34inch ultrawide with a resolution of 3440x1440 and a refresh rate of 200hz. I cant get to 200 FPS because of ZOS limits (and probably limits of my own PC), but I can sit at 100FPS in most content at that resolution. PVP is a whole different animal with FPS, but the dimensions of your screen really arent part of the equation.

If you are planning to run a standard HD res of 1920x1080, its really more about eye comfort and distance to the screen in terms of selecting the best size.

I am on PS4 console so I have a super-comfy faux leather recliner which I drag over to the 55-inch screen and with the leg-rest up my feet are about 18 inches away from the screen!!! It is like I am INSIDE the game and I love it.

Sorry -- I cannot ever go back to playing on computer unless you are playing on a computer with a HUGE monitor. :D

I am feeling that playing MMOs on computer is just so ... Y2K. Not dead yet but definitely moribund. :D

    @SpiritofESO
LMAO. MMOs on PC arent dying.

You want immersion, high resolution and a curved ultra wide blows a large flatscreen out of the ballpark. Good luck with that on console. I have gamed on huge TVs, projectors, computer monitors big and small, 3 computer monitors in an eyefinity setup, and for the last few years on various curved ultra wides. If immersion is your goal, there is simply no comparison. The only thing more immersive is VR, but that is a different animal all together.

Can easy imagine ultra wide monitors being very nice here, now for FPS I imagine they would be an world changer but even in ESO it will be nice.

A few people have mentioned a curved screen. When I switched to a curved screen it helped to cut down on eye strain. If you are the proper distance from it your eyes don't have to refocus going from center to edge.

I had to edit this because apparently I can't spell the word "a".
