✭✭✭ZOS is apparently supposed to release expansions, but not actually put anything new in the expansions.
I feel like these people haven't played other mmos like wow.
Imagine if you had to buy the expansions to be able to reach a higher cp cap.
If anything eso is very generous in this regard, you can play the game and be competitive without buying any dlcs or expansions.
If anything they are updating a lot of older sets this very patch.
Just look at Greymoor, the most popular pvp sets(5 piece), can all be acquired without actually buying the expac since its all tradeable: Venomous smite, eternal vigor, stuhns favor.
And yes you need Greymoor for mythic items, so what, you also need to do a lot of grinding for those, it's not like they're selling these items in the Crown Store, the expansion has 2 zones, with plenty of quests, a new trial etc.
Its actually nice that they have included something for everyone in Greymoor.

This pretty much. Kinda not fan of WoW & FFXIV, on top of the monthly subscription you gotta keep buying the latest expansions or you will be locked out and your character will be level gimped.
In ESO all is optional, the only thing I wish they would remove is the RNG boxesI'm a Godot & GameMaker enthusiast from Java, Indonesia (the most populated island on earth).

Galwylin✭✭✭✭✭This is always going to happen as long as they continue to add to the game. You simply can't keep adding and not expecting its going to leak into PvP. I've said before, simply keep all that sort of stuff out and the playing field will never be unleveled. But really people like overpowering others so its a you just have to deal with it situation.0 -

It isn't pay to win. It's pay to play, just like most games are. There is a load of free stuff for the freeloaders. Don't beat up ZoS because you want free stuff.

This is my position. Greymoor does not offer me anything as a Pvper that warrants buying it. No new zone, and the dungeon sets I can farm when ESO plus Trial come around. No problem.
Morrowind I bought because I love it.And now u can get the Warden class in crown store. Elswyer I should have just bought the Necromancer in the crown store when it was available. I hate dragons, they are lame. Summerset was.... well I don't remember because i'm in cyro.
So how am I going to get Mythic items if i am unwilling to pay for a chapter that only has one thing I might really care about and as far as I know won't be available in crown store.
Seriously though you think Zos puts our money towards the server?!
You get crowns with a sub, and you can buy dlc with crowns. You can even buy crowns with gold afaik. As for the mythic items; they're all very situational, you don't just wear them and win. To use them you lose either a 5 piece bonus, or the 2 piece bonus from a monster set. For malacath you have to be prepared to not crit, so builds that use crit for say healing can't use it, and torc does nothing until you're under 50% resources, which is kinda risky in pvp. And who wants to be unable to sprint during combat?
So much this. None of the mythics come without significant drawbacks, they are pretty balanced.0 -
