Why do you do what you do, when you do the things that you do?

This idea isn't new, but we all have quirks. The things we do , and cant really explain why?

I can't fish unless i take my boots and pants off. Somehow i feel it makes my fillet luckier for perfect roe

"So, drinking is a sacrament to Y'ffre... because it's his way of reminding us not to take things too seriously... You know how the other Elves are. Altmer have their crystal towers, and that's how they want to be — cold and perfect. And Dunmer are just like their Red Mountain — smouldering and dark. We just want to have a drink and not worry about it."

You remind of a man. (What man?) Oh, the man with the power. (What power?) Oh, the power of voodoo (Who do?) Oh, you do, you do (Do what?)

Lol The Thread Title reminded me of this song!

I don't really have any weird quirks in regards to superstition although I do call everyone "Pig" as a term of endearment...
When I first Q into dungs for instance, I always greet them with "Hi, Pigs!" or some variation of that! Lol I also like to wear certain costumes/outfits when in certain zones and always wear a swimsuit while fishing but that's more of an RP thing I suppose...

I change outfits on my characters to fit the area/temprature I'm questing in. I also like to put on a costume so they wear something closer to normal clothes when doing writs or spending a longer time in a town.

Put hoods or hats on when it rains.

Using the Treasure Hunter personality when it's night or being in a dark cave/ruin.

Those are the big ones I can think of.

If there are things I can climb on, I'm getting as high up as I can.

While farming in Nfsvhnevbevbebvebvbvb, I only do certain rooms and stop, even if I didn't get the things that indicate its time to switch characters.

When I run into specific friends in Cyro, we will be stopping and having a dance party every time.

I always clear a map in a certain order, with no backtracking, because in my head I would rather clear it from the starting location and work my way to the opposite side even if I have 100 quests going on because it saves me time.

Characters sit with 5k gold on them if I am actively playing them in PvE, 40k in Cyro.

No two characters can have the same look, use the same mount or pet or costume etc

And also, I have the worst RNG known to man typically, and it is known amongst my friends if they need a thing and just cannot get it to drop, bring me and you will get it. Its worked more times than I can count.

I thought that was normal  I just can't watch someone running through snow and ice with short pants and a thin shirt only.

I do the same. In some games I have outfits/costumes specifically for cold areas because watching my characters run around in short sleeves in snow makes me feel cold. In ESO I haven't got anything especially for that purpose, but I tend to use something like the warden costume.

When I make a new character, I always play whatever the immediate tutorial is.
If said character does not loot a blue or better recipe/motif book/pattern, I reroll them because I believe their "luck stat" to be too low.

Especially my main char has several different clothes (be it outfits, disguises or costumes): A lighter formal outfit if he stays in towns for a longer time, a sturdier one for travelling, one for really hot climates and one for cold, icy climates. And a few others for different occasions.

What always bothers me: If he has to travel between different climates very often for some daily quests... I'm always torn between taking the time to dress him in his winter clothes even if he's only in the cold for like 10 minutes, or watching him freeze :D

Writs must be done first thing in the morning. Yes I can do them any time, but it's just wrong to PvP right after waking up.

Master Writs are done at guild week end. BECAUSE. yeah.

Mounts and pets must always match the outfit. Except my farmer always gets her Badgers.

When the Bosmer character that has horns wears a helmet, I'd much rather use a cat motif with big ear nubs, assuming that the horns might fit in the empty space.

I'm the same. It's actually something I started in Morrowind - I'd carry around a set of regular clothes to swap to in towns because my character just looked so out of place in their armour. (And I think I only started that in Morrowind because it was one of the first games I played where you could both see your character in that much detail and customise their clothing. In older games you either couldn't tell or didn't have any choice, or both.)

In ESO I like to make sure each character has a range of options for different activities and occasions, like less formal stuff for when they're at home or blending in with commoners, more fancy options for formal occasions or meeting royalty or whatever, ones I use like disguises to make them look like a pirate or bandit or whatever and I try to make sure it matches the weather and terrain too. (Even my khajiit will wear closed toed boots in some places, because she wouldn't want to touch whatever's on the ground...or the ground itself.) I even got both the tavern singer's dress and the Bleakrock dress which are almost identical because they dye differently, so one is much fancier than the other. I change their hair too, like putting long hair into a pony tail if they're going into a cave or delve where I think it would catch on things or get in the way.

I don't log in for a long time when I see terrible patch notes that I have verified to be bad because I know they will not be changed [snip] which then makes me log in less on the PTS and check for bugs. And then there is the forum cen-CENSUS that adds to it...

For me, it was even "worse" with Morrowind than with ESO. I normally lived in Ienas Sarandas' old house in Ald'ruhn (before joining house Telvanni and finally moving into my own tower), and had all wardrobes, chests and sometimes even barrels stuffed with clothing (robes and skirts mostly) until they were full :D Which is funny, since I don't care that much for clothing in real life (as long as it's clean and fits the occasion).

The only thing which I collected even more obsessively were books.

I guess I'd do that too, but unfortunately the choices for male chars are a bit limited.

I often change my outfit/costume/hat/etc. based on what I'm doing, or where I am. Even my mounts and pets. I swap everything way too often...

I also always return to one of my homes before logging off. I have a few spots I make sure to log off at that way when I log in I am greeted with a "scene." Or I sit at my desk.

[edit:] Oh! And my personality! I have 3 quick-slotted...

Thankfully I only play one toon, because I feel compelled to have outfit slots to coordinate with the different mounts I regularly use. It balances out because I don't feel a need to collect many non-combat pets. Once I've "bonded" with one, that's it. (My little guy is a gloam wolf pup named PicklePee.)

When I access the menu I spin my camera first so my toon doesn't pivot in place. I have no rational explanation.

I have all the storage chests. Furnishings are organized by category inside them. I literally have OCD.

Before I go farming for mats, I eat a green stamina food. This is my egg timer. When I see my stamina drop, it's time to pack up and leave.

I have to log off each of my characters in specific places.

My Wood Elf Magika Necromancer, Elsandrah, logs off inside her home (Serenity Falls Estate), usually near the fireplace on the first floor.

My Orc Stamina Nightblade Werewolf, Jhania, logs off inside the guest house on the second level of the barn at my Necromancer's house. (She doesn't sleep in the main house because being a werewolf she wanders at night and doesn't want to disturb the household. She also feels uncomfortable in such a fine home, and plans to get her own small home soon.)

My High Elf Magika Sorcerer Vampire, Annalyssa, logs off inside her home, Proudspire Manor, but not in any particular room.

For some reason that makes no sense, none of them log off in their bedrooms.

Anyone else here who feels uncomfortable if their char falls down a cliff or any other place with a high altitude? No matter if 1st or 3rd person view, no matter if main char or some rarely played alt - I just can't look. Actually I have to close my eyes until it's over :D Already had that in Skyrim. And I'm not at all afraid of heights in rl, which makes it even weirder.
