There was a word, and the word was "not anytime soon". It's taking so long because it's one of the core game systems, or because it's not a priority, I guess.
when the sibyl system is removed from the show Psycho Pass...
Both the CP system and the sibyl system is so entrenched in their respective worlds you try to remove it and the whole thing collapses...They'll have to sit and think of something else to replace what currently sits as the lifeline of their respective world. Until that time, we must sit around and accept it.
"how does some random anime compare to an MMO point system?"
And this is why I don't speak to people IRL....

How does one go through life without speaking to people IRL?
Last I was aware they said they're still working on it, they just have nothing concrete yet (either that or nothing that's in a state ready enough to share publicly). While it's kind of annoying to be sitting on hundreds of CP you can't really use, I would actually prefer them to take the time to rework it so it doesn't end up breaking every-darn-thing in the game. There's a ridiculous amount of stuff tied to the CP system; gear, food, drinks, recipes for anything over level 50, potions, enchantments, all the crafting materials above level 50, the scaling of the CP system itself (aka how you spend your points), your stats as you allocate those points, etc. If they aren't careful with the rework there are so many other things they could end up borking as a result, and let's face it, ZOS doesn't have a good track record of making big changes without also introducing a lot of big problems.

That's true. However it took them a lot less time to go from the old vet system to the cp system iirc. And there was atleast news on their progress.
A couple months ago Rich said cp rework is atleast 1 year into the future. They are working on it, but likely wont have anything to show the public yet.

When I say speak, I mean hold a conversation.
When speaking about work related stuff, or simple yes, no answers, isn't really speaking to me. It falls under getting tasks done.
2020 was the time I was suppose to "come out of the shell" jump into the wild and see what happens. Then coronavirus happened and so far my life has been unchanged. I lived my life as if I was social distancing so honstly the pandemic didn't change much for me. I was prepared I buy my food for 3 months at a time. I don't eat fast food. Nor do I eat fancy.
I do have to leave about every 1-2 weeks for bread.. I run in the store, grab the bread and run out. probably 10 mins max in the store.

CP system rework = Huge nerfs across the board.
Like in every aspect of the game. Even crafting (Master Gatherer) or even gear farming (Treasure Hunter). ZOS won't buff us. They will nerf us. Or worse - connect CP progression with a pay-wall in some DLC / Chapter...
Take group dungeons or trials for example. Those are scaled for CP 160 or 300. Imagine all of the sudden doing that content with no CP. ZOS will have to overhaul pretty much the entire game. It is a huge amount of work (with little to no $ benefit). The only thing that can be compared to it is "One Tamriel" update (not an update made to make more $, without that update game would have died imho).
So... whenever I see someone saying to overhaul CP... I am like... why is this person asking to nerf himself / herself ? ? ?
Also... um... some people say that CP is the source of the power-creep... But it is one big BS. CP is capped since 3 years (Morrowind update). And somehow we have more power-creep with each update... why ? I will tell you why. New Classes / Skill lines / Set. Power-creep comes from those, not the CP system.

Tamriel unlimited made the game better imo
