I don't know what it is, but I've noticed a huge uptick in players purposefully causing trouble lately cause they know zos doesn't do anything about it. Or atleast won't for a week or more in extreme cases. Like these scroll trolls, or cheaters in other matches and in pve. It's sad to watch happen cause it pushes Soo many people out of PvP.

How would you prevent your own alliance from retrieving a scroll, when they refuse to drop it, and are hiding out in a keep?

You, or one of your group gets to it first. Designate a scroll runner and have them hang back just enough so they wont draw aggro from the temple guards. If theyre a nightblade even better, use cloak while group engages guards, then sprint to scroll. Use rapid maneuvers and other speed buffs. Its not impossible to get to it first.

That dog would see the end of my boot, and the player should be penalized for not playing the game.

Since ZOS won't take action on this, and it is harassment. All you can do, is not interact with them. Don't talk to them in chat, don't defend the keep they are at, don't try to follow them in the field hoping to pick it when they try to hand it off. And, DON'T make a post in the forums about them. Send a report to ZOS and then go to the other side of the map. The trolls love the attention they get in chat and forums, and will continue to do this as long as they are getting attention.

Bad analogy. Spies in war can be interrogated, imprisoned, and/or executed for treason. There is no recourse in ESO's PVP game.

You have 1 hour from the moment you pick the scroll up to secure it, or it will reset to the keep or temple you took it from.

Or maybe, they can let alliances deal with their own alliance?

So If you have identified the Spy, you want to flag them for KOS also by their own alliance?

That would be highly exploitable cause bigger guilds for example could just flag someone for KOS who they dont like and Team kill them.

Same for trolls, normal player carries scroll, Mass flag him as Spy, kill him, take scroll and troll with it.

There will always be trolls, spies and whatever. Its a video game after all.

And since er dont have any Gamemasters you kinda have to deal with them.

No.. they hang onto the scroll for long enough, they get flagged... its that easy

I saw fights between two alliances going on for long time Open field. Two big groups fighting for the scroll. Imagine the scroll carrier getting flagged after some time and just instantly explodes to friendly fire. Stupid Idea.

Just STOP begging to ZOS to take care about spies and scroll trolls. Either grab the scroll first or deal with it.

Its NOT a stupid idea, its fricken brilliant. Then it sends all those peeps farming EXP, running for the scroll. And what, you think that there wouldnt be a visual timer?
Or are you in one of those ball groups, that picks up the scroll... Runs it into the middle of enemy territory. Takes over a small keep. And farms AP for an eternity. Because no one can break your groups heals and shielding, while you drop diaper babies and permafrost?

Again, we had a runner set up at the gate read to grab it BECAUSE this troll was doing it all night to EP. But they clicked on it a sec before we did. GOT the scroll. And pissed off with it into the void. And then held it for well over an hour while they ran around.

Tonight in BLACKREACH, we had a troll... A DC loving Troll, on a EP toon that; while I was on in the 3 hours I was there. Jumped on the scroll before our raid could get there. And would run it around in circles. OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Hide in keeps, run scrolls back to DC side... Or just stand AFK for 5 - 10 mins at a time. At the moment, they are Hanging outside BRK with the scroll, and refuse to run it... They have been reported dozens of times tonight alone.

I heard in the early days - on console anyway - that trolls used to take a scroll and jump into slaughterfish-infused water, and the scroll wouldn't reset, it would have to be retrieved by a dev.

Well here is one possible way of dealing with it, switch to the same faction the spy/troll is working for. I mean if Dc isn't dealing with him personally and allowing him to run about like this then that is where you get onto your alt to take care of your own faction member. Just switch to an alternate to deal with the spy.

Anyone can take the scroll and do whatever they like. It is a part of the game, there's nothing that states otherwise so it doesn't break any rules. It's a personal choice to be an a-hole or not, but it's hardly worth a report.

Unfortunately this type of behavior has been going on for years without anything being done about it.
Altough I hope ZOS eventually do something about it. Because it's been abused like mad.
Unfortunately, the best take on it is to "simply not care about the objective" for your own sanity.

That is ABSOLUTELY messed. So basically everyone in Cry-o-dill, just sits back and takes it? Iv seen a lot of stupid [snip] in there. But really. Everyone has just become complacent with it?

    [Edited to remove Profanity]

    More or less, yeah.
It's messed up, I agree, but it's either that the players are getting frustrated and angry because ZOS doesn't do anything about it (the topic has been raised over and over again on this forum), or that the players stop caring about said objectives.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
