You think you're entitled to a refund? Zos OWNS your account if you actually read the terms and services. You buy something, you forsake all claims, UNLESS they actually do something against the terms and services and/or the law. False advertising in some extreme way can be against he law, but that's definitely not what happened. Of course it sucks that Thrassian's was nerfed (into the ground, although the latest change was a buff compared to earlier iterations), it's just the way things go in gaming and MMO's in particular. Even if it was just a big market ploy to get people to buy Greymoor just for Thrassian's, that's not a valid reason. But sure go and file a support ticket, who knows.

Although I don't necessarily agree with OP I find the "they own your account" and "you're entitled" arguments to be so ignorant.

Everything is negociable, everything can be discussed at any time. It may not be absolutely anything but it's closer to that than you think.

The game changes to a point where you no longer want to go further? Things changed to a point where you no longer identify with the game? See what can be done. Ask for a refund, ask for a rebate on an item that could divert your attention.

If you don't ask for anything, you'll get nothing, especially when there are circumstances that could justify or support your claim. I don't understand what people who speak of entitlement in those situations do irl, they just take any companie's *** with a smile and ask for more?

It's not a right or an entitlement to compensation, it's a potential justification, an argument to get compensation. If you can argue your point reasonably with support, they'll grant you what you ask. They are reasonable individuals with some means to grant some sort of appeasement granted you can argue your point reasonably and with a modicum of maturity.

Nearly all MMO have you rent content. Its called subscription and digital content one time rental fees i.e. ESO plus and Chapter and DLC updates that require a transaction exchange to access the game content. No ESO is entitled to their account nor entitled to have their voice "heard" on changes. Its encouraged for business values to maintain a customer satisfaction level; but let's be real. They have had years of positive reviews that eventually drowned the long term customers voice. Their better off drawing in new players who don't know what sort of the disparity and imbalance exists in-game. You could petition for a refund. I doubt you'll get anything in return; the player base on whole is riding the Dev roller coaster. I feel you, and everyone else, has this type of disconnect: you don't own anything in ESO, you're a digital renter bound by the terms of agreements.

Many. Many businesses employ bait and switch tactics to bolster their books; for example, how many feel about Thrassian Strangler changes. Of course, each will have their own stories portraying how they feel about the sensation of being duped out of RL money; but in the end, your the renter here; and much like investment properties, once the rent goes up then you're often locked into the place until something better comes along. Same with MMO where you're duped, locked by personal investment, and nothing better caught your attention. Time will change that...
