Ok so here's the issue, this issue can range from 2 mins to 2 hours when it happens, it happens a lot, and a force restart is needed because it locks up everything. A tell tale sign its happening is there will be suddenly no sound, then some of the character models get a green/funky colors to them, my character will turn blue or red. Cant't see spells, character doesn't even do the ability action movements either. Mobs turn blocky colors too. upon "logout" it just gets stuck at the logout screen, task manager can be brought up but not accessed, and it requires a hard restart. Sound always goes away first, then all the rest happens.

System Specs

Windows 8.1 64bit

Intel 4770k cpu
Evga 780GTX ti
16gb of ram.

the game HAS been repaired/reinstalled and ran as administrator. Sound drivers, videocard drivers and all following drivers are up to date and installed.

If you can, try hitting prtscr to get a screen capture of what you see. Characters changing colors, sounds more like something is over heating, namely the video card. I've not seen any game bugs that required me to hard restart my system to resolve it. Normally (with some exceptions) hard restarts are more system related bugs

If you are comfortable with trying, I'd try underclocking my video card. Normally dropping it down a mere 100Hz is enough to resolve any heating problems. Or the other thing you can obviously try is running the game on medium settings for a bit to see if that changes anything.

Could try running http://unigine.com/products/heaven/ on Extreme to see if the problem pops up there.

Everything is running at optimal temps, 52c on the card under full load and 50c on the CPU under full load. This machine has been stress tested, I've been building computers for 20 years myself, cooling is one thing I make sure is done right. It just does a hard hang that requires a force restart, not a lock per say, I can still alt tab and cycle menus but the task manager hangs, the game doesn't lock movement wise, it only locks the launcher and game when "logout" when the issue happens, which obviously I have to log out because its unplayable, and graphics would have nothing to do with sound. Sound goes first, then once the sound stops, animations go away, then character/monster colors start getting odd, and no spell detail. It's rather odd.

Are you running liquid cooling on the card? I have the Gigabyte 780 Ghz edt and it runs around 68-70C. If you're not running Liquid cooling on the card, then it must be broke, it seems unnatural to run that cool :p

Not sure what your problem might be. I've not had any issues in which I can't alt tab over and kill the game. Though I don't get any of the wierdness you describe, I just kill it to get out of the long load screens.

Closest I've seen to what you descibed is the game crashed and the pop-up to submit a bug report stayed behind the screen and that caused it to not shut correctly. Though in that case, I still get sound.

Evga runs really cool, redid all the thermal compound on the GPU myself, and it's in a storm trooper case with 7 fans that blow 120CFM in a 69 degree room. It can vary a few more C give or take, but it has never exceeded 60 when I redid all the thermal compound under the highest tests. it only gets to 52-55 on ESO.

Did you ever find a cause/solution to this? I have the same issues. Running Win7 64bit, Intel Q6600, GeForce 8800, 6GB RAM.

I notice it happens with more multi-player action going on, especially PVP. Not so much during solo play.
