Does anyone know how often new profile avatars are added to the available selection?

There's already a small number of heraldry crest designs available, but if there are indeed plans to add more at some stage, I'd be very much obliged if this was one of them:

Perhaps this thread could become a platform for others to share their own requests? (Although I don't know if the forum admins heed appeals such as this... still, "nothing ventured, nothing gained.")

    Gina can add forum avatars, or at least she has in the past. The last time I recall any being added was with Morrowind. So I'd say we could probably use a few more.

    Although I don't know if the forum admins heed appeals such as this... still, "nothing ventured, nothing gained."

    It seems more to moderate the users and potentially pass along information for suspected bugs/exploits, but to paraphrase you in the words of Wayne Gretzky "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take." Another aspect to consider is if ZoS does start generating forum avatars at the requests on users, how far does that slope go down... just this one time, or for every user who requests? It's the typical mindset you see a lot of the time, as it's better not to open that door than to deal with what comes after when you do open it.

    Awesome, if ZOS has more technical control over their forum than Gazillion did.

    Granted, Marvel was also a part of the mix as far as approval of any media used on the MH forum, which is an added layer I imagine ZOS doesn't have to contend with where TES is concerned.

    Ugh. I should have remembered that before I made that post...

    Granted, that's why I hoped that as my request already exists as a heraldry crest, and a small selection of crests are already available as avatars, it wouldn't be the same as requesting personalised avatars.

    Some of what they added was from a thread and response to player requests. In fact the Morrowind logo with the transparent background was added by Gina because I said I like the clean look of logos without one. She really does go above and beyond in a lot of what she does, often in ways we may never see.

    If they add a few more in future, I'd really hope they'll also include the other Great House crests, even if the Morrowind chapter was 3 years ago. Well, or at least the Telvanni one, as no one likes house Hlaalu anyway ;)

    Not that I don't really enjoy my dragon priest avatar, I totally wouldn't mind an actual dragon avatar or even some nordic symbols.
