Every day one maintance and in the patch notes i dont see anything for loading screens! Yesterday afternoon i had to wait 1 hour in every loading screen to kick me!!!! Then retry and stuck again!! If you bring down servers for 3-4 hours dont fix only quests. This happened in cyrodiil

Hello! We have had some players report success in reducing the lengthy loading screens by specifically adding the ESO.exe file to their firewall exceptions.

Some, very few tbh. The "delete that file" from my documents also offer very little solutions.

I do appreciate you answering forums post like that, but you do realize there's still a big problem with the servers.

"an error has occurred". All the time. I'm paying for the game but all I can do is login and look at my character. When I try to enter the game it brings me back to login screen. Last maintenance has completely broke this game

Did the most recent note not say that they had addressed the long load screens or was I imagining it? Was early this morning I read it. I haven't had one long load today but yesterday was a nightmare.

I had authorized eso.exe into both my windows firewall and my 3rd party internet security after I read about the extreme increase in loading screen times returning with patch 1.04 the other day.

Once doing this, I noticed a huge difference in load screens dropping from 1 - 4 minutes long with earlier patches, down to 20 - 30 seconds.

Then today, I went to go into a couple of solo dungeons only to be stomped with 10 minute loading screens resulting in a random d/c or a 'failed to transfer' error message, I put this down to server issues at that time.

I have not had any loading screens in the last 2 hours, that have lasted longer than 40 seconds. Either the firewall option has done something for me, or 1.04 helped with the load screen times for my configuration.

I had good luck with the firewall fix on Windows 7, but that was before the last patch.

The last patch busted something. Long load times and "failed transfers" while going in and out of instances.

I found firewall changed helped my load screens speed up, but didn't resolve the issue of them taking 5+ minutes. Basically if it would have loaded in 1-2 minutes, it now loads in 20-30 seconds, if it would have never loaded it still never loads. I've only had that issue since the last patch.

Hoping the maintenance helps with that (as the maintenance announcement suggests, but the patch notes don't). I'm on NA server, so that's happening now.

The failed to transfer message comes when the game for some odd reason decide your offline. I had this happen a few time while playing the game with my gf and a relog fixes it

Just want to point out that I didn't have issues with the loading screen dilemma until patch 1.04. You might want to check your coding because it seems a lot more people are having problems with it (also been noticing the dumb offline bug more now too).

Oh and I'm not behind a firewall so what exactly would be causing it then? I can tell you having to hit alt+f4 every 20-30 min starts to get tedious by the third hour.

Port forwarding helps as well and in my experience is more effective.

True... ever since last patch, whenever I enter a mine, public dungeon, anything that have a loading screen, it goes infinitely long. Most of the time, I do a force quit (using a Mac Client) and restart to get it work right away. NOTE, this is only happened sine last patch and mostly in Greenshade for me. I when back to Grahtwood to do my inventory clearing and seems to work.

    yep 1.04 completely killed it.
Gave up on trying every fix so just downloading the game client again.. yea it'll take a while but hey perhaps if everyone with 'requesting character load' issues downloads the client again and their upload rate dies, they might realize people actually are having problems..

It's fixed.. All you need to do is delete /uninstall your game client then download it again (yep all 30gb of it) from the website again.
Lets me log in pretty quick now. so yea happy.

I've never had problems with loading screens until a day or two ago. Since then I either get in extremely quickly(like I normally do) or I now end up waiting for awhile and realizing it is going nowhere so I exit the game. I've done the firewall thing and it did help for about 2 hours. Now it is back and I am getting really annoyed with it. I love the game, but please fix it so I can go back to playing the game I enjoy. Or at least tell people you know it is a problem and say you are going to fix it. It would be nice!
