Just go outside and experience real life. That is a great MMO.

Graphics are good, but they keep releasing crap content for it and there's still no respawn mechanic.

Imagine playing an MMO and expecting no server issues.

I have played WoW 2005-2012 and server issues is not high on the list of things I remember playing that game. They did not have the hardware there is today, yet the server hardly had issues except right in the day a new DLC was launched. Also, I remember playing large PvP battles without crashes or the insane lag people get in Cyrodiil. What happens with ESO for a few years is a sad joke, really. An IP that makes tons of money and has millions of subscribers can't find resources to fix big problems such as this. Only yesterday we had a very long downtime that prevented people in EU to play.

I've never played WoW, at least to any significant experience, but every other MMO has certainly had server issues. Some more, some less, and tbh, even in the most problematic of games, those things aren't what I remember when we have the nostalgia of rose colored glasses to look back on our beloved MMO's through.

Can anyone recommend any other MMOs with realistic graphics and a bit more of a grown up vibe?
That's what I liked about ESO, that it isn't as toony or "cute" as FFIV, for example. Unfortunately, I've kind of had enough of ZOS after this, but don't really want to wait till the Amazon LOTR MMO to start playing something new.

    Highly appreciate any recommendations!

Just wait, imo even if this is REALLY annoying they'll fix it anyways, TESO is pretty unique tbh.

What's taking them so long then? It's been an issue the majority of this game's existance.

Performance has been an issue in Cyrodiil for a long time, and there's been an occasional period when one or other PC server has had extra downtime, but not markedly more than many other MMOs. LoTRO has had its servers down for much of the last couple of weeks, for example, and even worse communication over it than here.

LOTRO used to be pretty decent with downtime however once upon a time, ESO not so much.

FFXIV. Very pro company in every aspect of how they handle things.
Maintenance goes smoothly. The few times it does not, they apologize and take action immediately.
Visible signs of learning from their mistakes and adjusting to play patterns over time.
Tickets answered promptly by human beings from the very start.
Visible signs of action taken to enforce TOS.

When they had a very long maintenance for a big update -- scheduled for a full day -- they gave a free day of subscription time to everyone. Because, that's just fair.

When you treat people right from the start without them having to ask, they are grateful for what you do for them.
When you don't even talk to them and make dumb moves, they come to resent their time wasted and look for recompense. Or just walk and take their money with them.

Given how they do things around here, F2P honestly saved this game. If it were sub only it'd be dead long ago -- if you force people to sub just to log in, you better be sure they can actually log in for starters, not to mention have excellent quality in all departments.
Imagine if you had to sub and your tickets come back after an unacceptable amount of time with a complete nonsense answer.
At least people still show up to try to log into ESO because they don't need to pay to do that.

WOW has very low system demand, assume classic is even lower.
Unless you play in huge fights on pop locked servers in Cyrodil I don't have much issues.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Pffft. Totally P2W. PUGs are toxic. Crown Store is WAY over-priced.

    Graphics are nice, though.

Neverwinter was brilliant for me, but the MTX was just too much. Each season your progress would stall unless you coughed up the $$$.

Other great alternatives are Grim Dawn, Diablo and Path of Exile (not necessarily MMOs). I only play MMOs solo to experience the story and roleplaying. Other people is just something I have to put up with.

Edit: I have high hopes for when Diablo IV is eventually released.
