Tooltip standardization request: Clarify whether "When you heal" includes overhealing

A number of tooltips describe "when you heal" kinds of procs. Examples include a couple of warden passives, sets people might farm for such as Hiti's Hearth and Hollowfang Thirst, and other sets such as Gossamer. It would be REALLY HELPFUL if you clarified the tooltips as to when overhealing does or doesn't count.

Indeed, there are two reasons to do it immediately, for this patch, even starting at this late date:
  • In this patch, like almost no other, you're generally inducing people to change which sets they use.
  • In this patch, like almost no other, you're specifically elevating the importance of overhealing.

Of course, if you rush to do this, you'll probably find that some sets don't behave the way they should. That's fine; it's what "Known Issues" or "We're closely monitoring ..." notes are for. But please, please do the quick and simple work of clarifying tooltips immediately, to coincide with the patch going live.

Or, if you can't do that, at least put the information in the patch notes, with the IOU being tooltip clarification in the indefinite future. :)

Good point, and I wonder if this is intended at all. Gossamer has never worked on overhealing AFAIK, so I assume it still won't after the update, and the halved duration will make it very hard to keep decent uptimes. Useless for mitigating AoE burst (like vKA meteors) if you cannot keep the buff up with overheals.

And yes, both Symphony and Hollowfang have this issue too. We used to have a tank run Ebon on one bar only so that DPS would take 1k damage every time he bar swapped, just so we could get Hollow and Symphony procs. Hopefully all of these can be changed to work with overhealing, or as you said they could at least mention that overheals don't work.

As a rule on having effects only count when health is actually healed unless stated otherwise such as spell power cure for example.

It would be far too redundant to include in the tool tip of evety healing proc set bonus that it must be health actually healed. Overhealing as a proc condition is an exception to the rule and thus is stated in set bonuses that adhere to said exception.

Then again maybe its escaping me at this time but I cant think of any healing set that procs on healing done when you are heal a full health bar outside of spc. Redistributor as well I guess but that is more specifc.

I know the Hiti and Sentinel sets only proc when you actually heal lost health so there is is a chance if it doesn't specifically include overhealing it won't count.

I believe at least one of the warden Green Balance passives has been changed to include overhealing. Perhaps this is what is meant by the "activate a heal" phrasing in the Maturation tooltip? But does that work on HoTs or just on initial skill use/set proc?

I say again: The wording here could really use some clarification.

One example of much clearer wording:

When you heal an X who is below 100% health

    vs.

When you heal or overheal an X

where "X" is "ally", "friendly target", "group member", etc. as the case may be.

Perhaps they didn't realize how it works (or doesn't work).

I guess now it works mainly on AOE DoTs, but only after the first pulse. Kind of limited ...
