Why not check every players memory for active botting software and lay out mass bans like they did with the dupe bugs?
That's what EvE online did a while back and it was hilarious to watch the population drop in some areas.

and yes the EULA allows them to monitor and report whats in memory on your computer :)

This is complete BS. I don't see bots in GW2.
Of course there are no bots for gw2. No one is interested in botting for GW2. That's why you don't find anything about bots for GW2.

    Oh wait.

    Ban hammers do not work.

Ban hammers do work. Ban early, ban often, ban liberally. The problem is that time and again, companies fail at actually having GMs in game and instead overly rely on cumbersome, antiquated, and inefficient reporting systems.

No they don't. In the time time takes to ban a bot, the farmers can have two more ready to go. It takes a lot more to dent a bot population.

So...banning botters makes the game sell!

I wonder what percentage of sales are due to botters?
War, give me war, give me war.

I have a couple of thoughts on this issue. First, I think that they should be banning by MAC address for gold spammers and botters. Have the client report the MAC, then ban that preventing them from logging in to ESO from the computer with that address. That would work until they figure it out and spoof the MAC. But, it would still work for a while.

Second, banning the farm bots is cool, but it doesn't solve much. Banning the spammers is great, but those are disposable anyway. What they need to do is ban the accounts that the farmers are sending all of their gold and items to. Logically, they'd have to be using some depot account that warehouses the gold. Ban those accounts and you can start hurting the gold sellers.
