But I have NEVER gotten a repeat on ANY furnishing-item lead.

    You will eventually, @FrancisCrawford.

I've got multiple Seats of the Snow Prince furnishings.

Other players have posted pictures of all their Dutiful Guars ...

To answer the initial question of the OP - yes, the *TREASURE* purple leads are ONE TIME ONLY..!

Oh really?? This is quite bad. I thought the drop rate becomes lower, much like it seems to be the case with other leads after you aquire it for the 1st time. I have long periods when I do not play much ESO and this was a good way to make some gold (even with a lower drop rate of purples).

But the 2nd issue I see with this is the replayability. Why would I bother doing the scrying/digging game after I reached level 10 and covered all the zones? Because I got most of the stuff I wanted already. Seems to me like this will be a dead skill in a few weeks of playing, which is quite sad.

On the subject of repeat furnishing leads and speaking as someone who has a mild(maybe severe) Antiquities addiction you can end up with many, many of the same type of furnishing!

Some of the leads seem to drop really, really easily, Tall Papa's Lamp being one. :)

However trying to persuade those pesky Northern Elsweyr Dragons to part with their wonderful window lead is like banging your head against a brick wall!! :o

Just my opinion here, but I’m rather upset you can’t get the purple treasure on new characters. It makes it much more of a grind (to an already grind-heavy task) to level the skill line on new characters. I just got my 2nd character to rank 5 (I’m on console and want the treasure chest passive) only to find out the hard way that I can’t get the purple leads. Needless to say I won’t be proceeding any further on my additional toons.

Also, I don’t think this would be abused nearly to the point ppl are believing it would, as these skill lines are VERY grindy. It’s honestly not worth it imo. The only reason I decided to level them up on each character is because I thought I’d get a good chunk of gold in the process of obtaining the passives.

@jpl7340 there are enough zones that you can scry the treasure leads in SOME of them to level up antiquities on one character, and scry the treasure leads in OTHER zones on your second or third characters to level up antiquities on those.

Reminder that once you have found ALL the blue/green/purple antiquity treasures via scrying, you can get a one-time gold treasure lead worth 100k. I have not made it there yet though.

@FrancisCrawford the Harvestmap addon (PC/mac only) is really useful for finding treasure chests in general, especially in the open, but it only shows the location where chests MIGHT spawn. The new keen eye passive for chests is really helpful - it lets you spot treasure chests IN THE DARK and in gloomy locations like group and public dungeons, where it is really easy to otherwise just walk past a chest location without spotting the chest, even if Harvestmap informed you that it was a possible location.

This. I leveled up antiquities on one character very quickly doing the green/blue/purple run in every zone. Made decent gold too. My other character, I decided to repeat, because I like the treasure chest visibility passive. Nope. It will take way to long to hassle with....

I smell future crown store skill line purchase as being behind this.

Why do you want to grind-level it on all your chars right here and now

Not necessarily "here and now" but ... Keen Eye: Treasure Chests

You would like to have and use the Passive - Keen Eye: Treasure Chests..?

If you are playing on console, I can understand it (at least a bit  ). But if you are playing on PC :expressionless: . Why would you use - from my poi - such a useless skill, when you can use an addon for it? If you don't like addons ok, but still. Even without that passive T-chests can be seen without any problems (and thats coming from someone wearing classes :sunglasses: ).

    Best regards

It's nice to have on console. Can easily miss a chest in some darker areas.😁

Astonishingly it appears they are one time per account.

Which means if you want both your main and your crafter/gatherer to level up in Antiquities, one of them is going to be at it for a stupidly long time as they’ll basically be grinding out levels on green and blue leads, which even at low levels on Arteum is mind cripplingly boring. Having to grind up the higher levels, which are calculated to include purple leads, will be intolerable.

I’m not sure I get the logic behind this (and I suspect there is no logic and it’s one of those “well the guidelines said players get these leads one time only so the lowbie dev doing this assumed it was once per account and no one checked because why bother” situations). I mean I don’t get significantly less loot if I do pledges or random dungeon of the day on multiple characters, so why I should get less loot grinding through Antiquities on a second character?

It is nice to have on PC, too. The person you quoted is right that there are addons, and that you can see them without problems. I have two add-ons that I use for chests, and I can see many of them from half way across the map. This is how I can almost guarantee that they have run right past chests. I have found a number of chests that were not known by the add-ons, and that I did not see right away, but did find because of the passive.

It is definitely a must-have for any characters that hunt down the overland treasure chests, no matter what platform they are on.

My main character needed nearly every purple lead to max out his skill lines. Only 4 zones were left when I maxed out.

This seems like it might be bugged now. I leveled up the skill lines by doing the green/blue/purple leads in all the DLC zones and all the AD zones, (I got purple leads in every zone) then went to hunting gold leads to finish leveling. a few days ago I decided to go back and do the DC and EP zones but I did 3 DC zones and all I got was the blue leads. I even tried doing the green and blue leads 3 times each and I never got any purples.
