Antiquities: Purple 5k gold treasures one time only?

Would I be correct in thinking these items are one time only? Is this per account or per character?

I've seen purple furnishing leads drop all the time..but the purple leads that are just treasures that sell for 5k.

I've seen one..exactly one. They don't exist.

They exist in every single zone after you've gone through and done the freebie green leads which gives freebie blue leads which then provides you with purple leads.

I am just about certain I have gotten a purple treasure lead in every zone. Dig up the green treasure that is always available and it gives a lead to the blue treasure. Dig up the blue treasure and it gives a lead to the purple treasure. But while it seems like you can repeat the green-to-blue lead, I do not think the blue-to-purple lead repeats. It seems to be once per zone. But I am not sure if you can do it on multiple characters. I only have one character doing antiquities right now.

Purple leads are all available through getting from the blue leads in each zone. One time only. You dont get another purple lead again from the blue after you have done it once.

My experience is that the purple 5K gold treasures are once per account. I tried getting them drop again on a second character by doing green then blue freeby leads, but I got no purple lead after digging up the blue freeby.

That would actually make some sense, since it puts a little damper on using it for gold farming. No collecting purple treasures, depositing the gold, delete the character, create a new one and do it all over again.

But, if it is once per account, it makes me wonder if maybe there's also a timer in place so that you can eventually get the lead on more than one character, thus filling out the codex for the completionists out there. For example, if you get the purple treasure in Auridon, you have to wait thirty or sixty days or something in order to get that purple Auridon treasure again.

Also without those diggable purple leads it makes it much more difficult to level the skill line on your apprentices yes.

This one does not like just digging over and over in Artaeum. It smells of elves.

You need to get leads from blue ones to do purple much like green ones dropping g leads for blue.

To answer the initial question of the OP - yes, the *TREASURE* purple leads are ONE TIME ONLY..!

As it was already explained by some people in here you can get per each Zone/Region a green treasure lead, which will give you a blue treasure lead, which will then give you a purple treasure lead. The green and blue treasure leads can be farmed without end, but the purple one can only be aquired ONCE per account!

ZOS would've been stupid to let you get the purple treasure lead more than once per account with a 5k gold tag on it .

Regarding the leveling of the Antiquities Skilllines. Well, it is true that it'll be harder to level it on twink chars since you won't be able to get the purple lead. But!!! Think about it for a moment please! Why do you want to grind-level it on all your chars right here and now .?! The leads are account-wide, you can get them with all of your chars !!! With that you can collect leads during playing the game with all of your chars and then go after them with ONE !!! char (maybe your main char) ..! No need for you to level it here and now on *all* of your chars ...

P.s.:

In case you want to level the skillline on all your chars, I would reccommend doing so until level 6-7 in a small zone/region and then use leads you've collected with other chars before for the rest of the way. That'll be the way I am going to do it.

Yes. But only if you want to complete the codex-entries for those leads. If so, then you'll need to dig up not only purple leads more than once, but also golden and mythic ones too ...

• Has anybody had a decent drop rate on the purple and gold leads that do repeat? I haven't.
• Is it possible to get a repeat on a lead that part of an overall item (Mythic, mount) until you've completed the overall item?

Umm you get one in each zone with 100% chance. After digging a default green antiquity you will always get a blue lead (assuming that your passive level allows digging blue treasures), and if you have the next level of the passive, you will get a purple lead for free. Even if you won't find any extra treasures.

  There was a *bug* for a short time after the release where you were able to get the purple *treasure* lead over and over again on the island of Eyevea (Mage Guilds Island), but that was fixed.   Well, what should I say. Some people have luck with the RNG and some don't. For example. It took me 10 runs of Darkshade Caverns 1 to get the lead for the Wolf mount but it took only one run through Darkshade Caverns 2 to get the lead from there. Same goes for the lead drops for the Ancestral Motifs from the treasure map chests. So far I've done around 120 maps (40 for each faction) but I was only able to nearly complete the orc motif. The for the other ones (nord and elf) I only had 2 leads each so far. So, at the end I would say its purely RNG based.

  I am not sure here, but I think you'll need to complete the item first before you can start it again. But as I said, I am not sure .

There's an addon that makes treasure chests glow? I have a pretty good eye for treasure chests usually, but since I have that skill, I've caught some from the corner of my eye that I would otherwise have missed. So yeah, all my characters will eventually get this passive.

The purple treasure items that are limited to 1 per account only have 1 codex entry.

1)Far as actual treasures go - no, there aren't. But you can certainly get furnishings and, I bet, mythic gear leads more than once, I have 3 of some purple furnishings now.

2)I have actually and my normal RNG is pretty bad, overall droprates seem pretty high tbh. I mean RNG will always RNG so someone may be unlucky but it seems the majority of the people won't exactly have to spend a month of non stop grinding to get the one lead they want.

3)No, the general rule seems to be that you cannot get a new lead of a kind until you've finished a previous lead of the kind. This applies to freebie leads as well - you won't get a new blue lead for excavating green one if you had already picked up, but not followed the blue lead. Far as leads that are parts of items go, I have found one that was part of the music box furnishing like 3 times before completing the full box, but the 2nd and 3rd time I got told I couldn't pick it up as the lead 'no longer existed'.

This yes. Very much. This one herself has seen many chests she would otherwise have missed.

Snowstorm does any treasure maps and Spiny Tim does the crafting surveys.

This one would very much like them both to acquire the glowy chest magic vision skill.

I'm finding the passive useful. But maybe there's an add-on better than what I use, which is Harvest Map. (While Harvest Map usually only shows me crafting nodes if there's something there, it shows me all possible locations for treasure chests and heavy sacks.)

The passive is better than the add ons (which I use) and my glasses (which I wear).

(Edit: that includes the add on that puts the 3D marker above the chest locations)

I got some of my leads very quickly. Morwha's Bounty came on the very first Thieves Guild repeatable quest I did. The Dwemer Star Chart game on my very first chest in Stros M'Kai. Tall Papa's Lamp came on one of my first few trash mob fights. I dug all those up promptly and placed them at my houses.

But I have NEVER gotten a repeat on ANY furnishing-item lead.
