Costumes now change your hairstyle back to default?

Lately when I put on a costume on a character the hairstyle gets swapped back to the original/default version.
While before the character didn't swap hairstyles, just outfit.

Is this a known bug?
Is this going to be changed back?

I just checked on half a dozen of my characters; doesn't happen on them, whether going from one costume to a different one, or from an outfit to a costume. Do you use Hide Your Helm from the hats menu? I don't have anyone wearing anything on their heads whether an outfit or a costume - the armor piece is there, of course, but that's what Hide Your Helm is for....

I'm thinking you're talking about disguises. Reason why is disguises hide all cosmetics and skins so you blend in with the NPCs. Funny enough since vampire counts as a skin it hides it to!

I think they actually changed that a while back, iirc most Disguises no longer hide the vamp appearance.

This happened to one of my vampires when I was playing over the weekend so it still does it, at least on console. I use a crown store hairstyle on him too so I had forgotten what he originally looked like 😂

They changed it back with Greymoor update. After the January update disguises stopped "curing" vampirism and cosmetic items, but then in May they started doing that again. Maybe they reverted it because some people were using disguises to hide vampire look and they complained about it?
