I've had this happen intermittently to me as well, also had a support ticket that was closed with no solution offered. Was humorous as they asked me to turn off mods. Basically join a group, get the boot. Reloading usually fixes it just annoying.

FYI, that "message limit" you hit has nothing to do with chatting. It's an indication that the game client is sending too many messages across the network, those messages being any data the client and server need to exchange with each other: movement, combat, bank transactions, sending in-game mail, anything. Grouping up to start a dungeon does not come across as a particularly data intensive operation, but the group finder has been bugged since it was introduced, so I suppose anything can happen.

However, exactly what constitutes "too many" messages, when it occurs, and why, is unclear.

To be fair my ping is typically 67 or so... not sure there is a lag but possibly a burst of messaging when joining groups that is handled differently or incorrectly with Stadia players.

This happened to me also. Everyone I would invite into a group would get knocked offline and have to reload. Upon reloading they were still in the group thankfully. This is very annoying and time wasting.

I have also opened a ticket for this issue and get nothing but canned responses about disabling mods and gathering logs. Sigh.

It would be nice to get some official comment or acknowledgement.

I have this issue. Cannot group effectively.

We're still getting issues, had one poor guy who missed our Stadia guild event due to getting booted every time he relogged because he was part of our group doing world bosses. One guild mate had it happen 10 minutes ago, so it's not fixed.

This bug is literally killing the game for me, I can not join any large group, so trials are out of the question. It happens on all devices (Chromecast, laptop, phone) and happens every single time. ZOS you can replicate this every single time, join any large group and you will be kicked. Doesn't seem to happen if you join a normal 4 man group or if you join a 4 man group which then has more users join and thus becomes a 'large group'. Please fix this, a huge part of the game is unplayable on stadia!!!!

About to cancel my sub to ESO and stadia. Game is unplayable as a MMORPG on stadia as can't join any large group. How was this not picked up in testing???

Well, I submitted a bug report and got a copy/paste answer which is irrelevant to us Stadia users. It would seem there support staff have not been made aware of Stadia and there cut and paste answers have not been updated to include Stadia.

Just to note, I have only been getting the error 318 while using my Stadia controller. It has not happened when using an Xbox controller on my laptop with Stadia.

Hopefully it's resolved quickly as an MMORPG with broken grouping is game breaking in my view.

@ZOS_GinaBruno I have to say dealing with your support is a very frustrating experience. They seem to have no interest in acknowledging a bug report for what it is and logging it with the devs. Their only interest is fobbing me off with generic non relevant answers to get the ticket closed as quickly as possible, with no care as to weather the problem is looked at or not. They behave like they are working to a quota system where the main objective is to close the ticket and not to acknowledge or log the problem.

I have no expectation that the support staff can fix our problem, but I do have an expectation that they can log it with the devs who can fix it. Fobbing me off with generic answers and telling me to log the bug with Stadia when this is clearly not a systems issue, but a software issue is not helpful. In fact I think this my be a recurrence of a bug you had 7 years ago with how ESO on X-box handled non standard controllers, only now with Stadia.

That said, is there any chance this was looked at for 6.1.1 @ZOS_GinaBruno or will be touched before patch? I didn't see any notes on it but am hoping. Sorry to keep pinging you on it but was sad to not see it mentioned. =(

We're about to start spinning up trials for folks vs. general world boss runs / mages & fighters guild type events and this will result in kind of a non-starter as folks won't be able to actually do trial groups now they are starting to hit 160+ and looking for better gear.

We can't actually play PVP right now outside of solo. As of last night when I join a group I'm locked out due to "Account Logged In" and if I manage to get through I get immediately booted again for another "Account Logged In" cycle. I basically can't play until they boot me from the group, if they boot me from the group. Makes for a somewhat frustrating evening of not playing.

Related to the canned responses not making any sense, I think part of it is there isn't actually a Stadia queue yet, so canned responses are misfires off the bat.

I play with Xbox controller on PC and the bug occurs on there as well. I’ve also tried KB+M on PC with the same issue.
