Did anyone else hope for more Nord themed dungeons?

With this being a Skyrim themed content year and all?

The closest we'll apparently get this year was Icereach, which was revolving more around Reachmen than Nords. Followed by a Redguard ruin, a vampire dungeon and another werewolf/dwemer ruin kind of mashup. Did we really need more werewolves after Moonhunter Keep and March of Sacrifice? I suppose a vampire dungeon is warranted given the theme of the year, although we already had one last year, but nothing about this year's dungeon content actually says "Skyrim" to me.
No snowy mountaintops, no Nordic ruins, no Falmer or giants or mammoths or frost trolls or snow whales ...

And it's not just locations, the associated motif styles also don't add anything Nord-themed. The Reachmen and Redguard styles from Q1 are joined by a vampire style and something alchemist-like that could come from anywhere in Tamriel.

As of right now, Falkreath Hold still seems to be the best Nord-themed dungeon, which is kind of strange to me.

I don't know, maybe I just have wrong expectations, but this didn't seem like a great year for Skyrim so far. Elsweyr did much more for the catfolk last year.

I definitely understand where you are coming from but me personally I am super happy with the choices I was worried they wouldn’t have any dungeons that directly tie to the gray host but these two have gray host Weitem all over them. I love castle thorn the most! Stone garden is super cool looking but I wish there were more vamps inside that dungeon instead of ww

Did we get to see the new CC season anywhere? I must have missed it. Although we'll probably know more with next week's data mine.

    I like the gothic theme.
I'll say the vampire dungeon looks quite nice, and the first piece of content this year I'll that actually seems gothic. It certainly has its place in this year's lineup, I just wish there was more for Nords.

I was hoping for more Nord themes in general but I guess the Nords and Vampires are hand in hand in Skyrim also. I never really noticed how much their lore seems to be entwined in Vampires.

You got me there. I would've loved a Falmer dungeon. Falmer motif, gross Chaurus head monster set.

yeah during the live stream there was a very brief (and with regards to their reaction apparently unintended) pop up for next crown crate season which is called sovngarde which makes me think its nord themed...

I honestly thought we would see at least one Nordic barrow or falmer den dungeon. Either of which would have been based on a dungeon from Skyrim.

Perhaps the Nordic ruin where the greybeards send you to get the horn? They could have put some vampires in there. That would have been cool.

Falkreath Hold (and Falkreath Hold 2 aka Icereach) is one of the more tedious dungeon designs... a wood fort with a bunch of Draugr tombs attached ... if that’s Nord design I really don’t need any more thanks. I really don’t get this obsession that everything Greymoor should be like the Skyrim game.

From a very brief viewing both new dungeons look quite distinctive, which is nice. Let’s hope they’re as innovative and fun as Unhallowed Grave and not dreary repeats like Icereach. Although the whole ‘mad scientist creates army of undead/transformed’ does reek of Scalecaller Peak pt 2

Kinda over nords to he honest ice reach was basically windheld tile set woth reachmen. Dire frost base hame same thing, falkreath again.. just nord areas with reachmen I'd rather have more gothic vampire dungeons overall.

Maybe because the theme of the year is the grey host a vampire/werewolves/rechmen alliance kind of thing not skyrim as a whole?

Like last year theme was dragon not elsweyr
    Last year we got
    1 icy dwemer ruin frosltvault
    1 ayleids/deadric cultist malatar
    1 vampire/dragon moongrave fane
1 wood elf/dragon lair of maarselok

We got a lot of Nord themed dungeons in Eastmarch and The Rift. I think they wanted to give us more variety with the dungeons this time.

Moongrave Fane and Lair of Maarselok are set in Khajiiti ruins though, and Moongrave Fane offers a Khajiiti motif style. Also a bit bold to say that last year's theme wasn't Elsweyr when that was the title of the chapter and the whole setting. It was at least part of the theme, as is Skyrim this year.

Which ones? I'll grant you Direfrost Keep, but the Blessed Crucible takes place in a Daedric Ruin, and Frostvault is a Goblin/Dwemer dungeon. 1 out of 3 doesn't seem like a lot, and that one's still part of the base game.

It looks they had no idea for Q3 dungs but they had to release new dungs so they just separate werewolf and vampires. The castle makes sense - some vamp lord is trying to get an army but stone garden was created without any deep idea.

@Faulgor, though I know you're disappointed from a group dungeon standpoint, there still should be plenty of delves and other Nord goodies in Q4 Darkstorm ... which is supposed to take place in The Reach.

The whole idea of “year long stories” is to let them reuse assets for an entire year.

Ex, Northern+Southern Elsweyr are basically the same.

Idc what the dungeon themes are as long as an Ice Mage DPS monster set comes out for my Warden. Every ice-themed dungeon so far has given us random elements or heck even Flame Damage sets.....

Yeah right now I'm mainly looking forward to the Reach. I even held off buying Proudspire manor in case there's a house in Markarth I'd prefer, and I suspect there'll be one or two new motifs in there that could be Nord-themed.
I'm also wondering if we'll see anything like a new arena or if they'll go the same route as Dragonhold and just add two questlines for the price of one instead.
